Registry screw up! (xp)

So I went and registered last month at Babies R Us, mostly for myself so that I could see what I needed and have a list for myself. I'm still not sure if I'm going to do a shower (my mom would throw it for me if I chose to have one!), so I have been buying things for myself here and there every week off of the registry to prepare. I've probably bought eight or nine things off of it in the past two months, and I got on their website to check on the registry and to update it, and it's only showing that three things have been purchased... one of which I haven't actually bought! I'm super annoyed because I'm the only one that knows about the registry (besides you guys lol), so of course I'm the only one buying things off of it, so how can the other six things that I have bought still show as "not received yet" and the moniter that I didn't purchase yet shows as "already received?" I called them right away and of course the teenager that answers can't help me out at all. She doesn't listen to anything that I'm saying and suggests that people who are buying my gifts just must not be scanning my registry when they check out. I'M THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNOWS ABOUT MY REGISTRY!!! I'M THE ONLY ONE BUYING STUFF OFF OF IT AND I ABSOLUTELY KNOW THAT I GIVE THEM MY REGISTRY AT CHECKOUT!! *deep breath* lol... Thanks for letting me vent...

That really sucks! I can't even register at toys r us because according to their computer my postal code doesn't match my address -sigh-

that said, are you sure, 100% that no one bought you that monitor? I automatically look at the regusteries at toys r us fir pregnant friends whether they've told me or not. Maybe you'll get a surprise!

Geez! So much for having a helpful tool to keep track of what you need for the baby! I was actually thinking of doing the same thing for myself, so I know what I want and need.
I love browsing Babies r us website to get ideas!
Then I go on craigslist and see if it's available. I got a BEAUTIFUL, recent style, never used bassinet for $50 that way. I am also about to get a cool dresser/changing table for the same price.
I will splurge on some outfits, pacis and blankets then.

ugh, I'm sorry Krystal. Unhelpful employees are no good. HOPEFULLY a friend/family member did search for your registry by your name????

Fortunately after my shower yesterday, all of my needed purchases at this point are "fun" stuff like maxi pads and postpartum undies. Which I am NOT putting on a registry Biggrin

:lurk: I just update mine from the website when I've purchased something. It shows up right away and it's easier than trying to give them my registry in the store.

I'm not sure if someone bought it or not... it would just be weird as I really haven't told anyone that I'm registered, and I'm not really close to any girlfriends anymore (unfortunately) so I wouldn't know who would buy it for me lol! I do update the resistry online a lot, but I can't find a way to move certain items to "already purchased" without deleting them entirely off of the registry, which I might just end up doing.

That is so odd. Do you think that maybe someone used your registry when they meant to get a different "Krystal" instead?

Well when you go to the store you have to enter in the last name and the state of the person that you're shopping for. My last name is somewhat common but the spelling is very uncommon... as in EVERYONE misspells it, that I just don't see how anyone could make a mistake like that, but who knows. I think I'll just delete the items off of the registry to clean up the problem... that will be much easier than dealing with whatever bored teen might be manning the registry desk lol!
