How did the ultrasound go? What does it mean that LO has a dialted renal pelvis?

Thank you for asking! It went ok. They dilation (Pyelectasis) was the same as last time, about 7 mm on one side and 6 mm on the other. It is on the low end. Doc doesn't seem to concerned. We have another u/s in 4 weeks again. He may have to have an ultrasound after birth. Everything else looked fine on the ultrasound. His weight estimate is 5 lbs! What really freaks me out is I googled Pyelectasis and it is a soft marker for Downs Syndrome. My triple screen and NT scan were fine and there are no other markers on the u/s. I asked the doc about it. He said chances are low with my screenings and it is an isolated marker. I am trying to stay positive and relax. I really wanted to enjoy this pregnancy, but it was nerve racking in the beginning since my last pregnancy was a miscarriage and now the Pyelectasis makes it very nerve racking. I get a break this weekend, DS and DH are going to MILs and I am staying home! I have a gift card for a preg massage and am going to sleep in SUnday and relax and get some stuff done...and some shopping Smile

I am glad that the doc does not seem to concerned...that would help me. But I would probably still worry too. Have a great weekend...can I come too Wink

I would try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know!). So many of these tests have false positives! Sending you HH baby vibes!!

Thanks Krystal...all of my screenings were low risk. The anatomy u/s showed dilated renal pelvis which is the top of the tubes to the bladder are enlarged/retaining fluid. It has been mild, not severe. My doc never brought up downs, I found it when I googled it. I asked him about it and he said there were not other markers on the u/s and this is fairly common in boys. Baby boy may have to have an abdominal u/s after he is born. I am trying to keep my faith...I am just ready for Nov to get here!
