surprise!

that's exactly what this is - a BIG SURPRISE! i've started writing this about 10 times and i keep deleting it thinking, 'nah, this can't be happening' but..yeah, it is.

hi, i'm nancy. i've been married almost 5 years to DH john and we have a 21 month old son thomas. i live in the bronx, ny and am a stay at home mom. i was in finance before i had my son but decided to stay home after he was born. i am a disney travel agent as well as teach mommy and me classes 4 days a week.

why is this a surprise? well, let's see....it took a LONG time to get pregnant with thomas (i was on the clomid board for a while). i have PCOS and basically never thought i'd get pg without some help. i only just recently began getting AF and on feb. 25th i stopped bf'ing thomas. that weekend i flew to Disney and ran the Princess Half Marathon. and apparently the following weekend i actually ovulated. so...basically i had my body back for three weeks and now i'm pg. i'm having a little bit of a hard time adjusting to the idea of having a second child as i wasn't sure i wanted one. i had alot of plans for the upcoming year - we have a 2 week maui vacation in may, a half marathon in august, and the full marathon in january. still going to maui but i guess my long distance training is over for a while.

but what do they say? life is what happens when you're busy making plans.

called my doc and he's having me come in april 4th for a sono. hopefully by then we'll see something and be able to figure out if this is for real or not! i have a feeling it is though. i have all the cramps i had with thomas.

ok, stop writing nancy! looking forward to meeting you all Smile

oh no. i tested. on sunday i was feeling so crappy - crampy and tired but no AF. i sent DH out for a test and the pee had barely hit the stick and it was a plus sign! tested two more times because i thought maybe that one was just broken. nope. all positive.

you're right. everything happens for a reason. i'll get there. i know i will.

and thanks! i had the WORST time bf'ing my son for 14 weeks. then after that it just worked and was so easy. i had only planned on doing it for 4-6 months but the little guy had TERRIBLE reflux and docs suggested i keep bf'ing b/c the bottles would make it worse. and then i just kept going...and going...and going...i was actually a little sad when i stopped. had i know i'd get pg i probably would have kept doing it. lol!!

congratulations. My story is very similar to yours, PCOS, clomid (other meds, procedures, etc) to get preg with #1. #2 and now #3 came pretty easy! So watch out next time around Lol

Nancy, congrats on your pregnancy! Smile So cool about the Disney travel stuff, I'll have to bug you in the future when we go back there for vacation. We went last August and my sons loved it.

great! i'm happy to help you! it's totally free to use me to plan your trips. disney pays me. so it's a win-win for all! Smile

my son is only 21 months old and he's been 4 times already! lol! we won't be going back for a while - it was supposed to be jan 2012 so i can run the marathon but i don't think pregnancy and marathon training really go hand in hand! but, there's a half marathon down there at the end of feb (princess half marathon) that we may go down for. maybe the extra month and half will be enough to get my butt in gear for 13.1 miles. we shall see...lately i haven't been running much because i'm so tired. need to get back into it.

Half marathon sounds like a great idea. We may not be going back until we move though, need a larger house and all. So we'll see... I love it there though. Smile

My husband works in NYC (Bloomberg, not the mayor) and we are currently in Kearny but thinking of moving to Totowa, Millburn, Ridgewood, etc. Haven't decided where yet but generally same area for the NYC commute but in a much nicer area.

Of course, this all depends on if my In-Laws want to immigrate to here (husband's British). For now, we are close to my Mother for help when needed, however, she's not as available as we thought she would be when we moved here (especially in winter, have barely seen her). On the flip side, my In-Laws would babysit all day and night if they had the chance! They're just wonderful. Smile

P.S. Speaking of my Mom, once this baby is born I do not expect to see her for the first three months. She does not like newborns and will stay away! She did that when I had Connor (Kyle was born in the UK).
