Update

Well, I had another appointment this morning after my second bleeding episode. Again, everything looked fine with the baby and this doctor could not tell the cause of the bleeding either. Even though I felt like my belly was smaller today, I was still measuring fine, actually she said I was measuring bigger than 15 weeks.

She said that there could be a problem with the placenta, but she wanted to wait until my u/s on the 24th and hopefully that will show what is causing the bleeding. I was really relieved that the baby is still ok; I totally started bawling in the doctor's office after I heard the heartbeat.

So she told me to just rest in bed as much as possible until the u/s, which is going to be quite a challenge with two little boys running around, but I'll do my best. We have tickets to go see a play tonight with the kids so I will probably still go to that, but for the rest of the weekend I will sit on my butt and relax!

Oh Honey it is understandable why you are so worried. Thank goodness the baby is doing well in there! I hope you do find out the reason at your U/S.

I'm glad everything seems okay and you got to hear the heartbeat... wishing you lots of rest and peace this weekend!

OMG I'm so glad that everything is OK. I pretty much had the same response from my OB, she had no idea why I was bleeding and cramping, and worse couldn't find the HB on the doppler, so I had to wait for 20 minutes for the U/S tech, all the while thinking the worst... then when I saw his little HB I started bawling all on her table. It's the greatest feeling in the world knowing that our little beans are OK and we were worrying for nothing! So happy for you and baby!

That is good to know the baby is ok, but it would be more relieving to have seen the u/s. It must be torture waiting until the 24th!
stay rested, let the boys turn into Lord of the flies boys if they have to (just kidding of course).

Krystal, glad your LO is doing good as well.

I have a babysitter who comes by once a week to help out, so I had her come over yesterday and actually stayed in bed for like 2-3 hours. OMG it was so boring.

I am still having bleeding though, and had another heavy spell at 2 AM last night, so I am going to try and see if my brother-in-law can come by a couple of days next week too. I wish they would move up my u/s cause clearly something is wrong, but I guess I'll just have to bug them some more on Monday.

Rest up! You can always hang out on a laptop in bed right? Sorry they can't give you any answers and that you've still got the bleeding going on. I think you're right to pressure them Monday to get you another ultrasound sooner than 2 weeks. Could you also be referred to another obstetritian? Get advice from a midwife or something? Hugs!

First I am very very happy that the baby is doing good. I too would try to get the u/s earlier. It would decrease so much stress if you could figure out what is going on. Take care and keep us updated!

Well, I tried to contact my doctor to get the u/s date changed to sooner. I found out my doctor was on vacation, so I switched to the other doctor I saw last week (I was planning on changing doctors anyway cause I wasn't too thrilled with the guy I had).

Unfortunately though, she refused to change my u/s date because "if there's a problem with the placenta, the treatment is the same...rest." So much for peace of mind. So now I have to wait two weeks until I (hopefully) find out what is going on. Still spotting with about 1 heavier bleeding spell every day (at least it's brown blood).

What she says is true, but it would (my assumption) give you piece of mind to know that is what it is. Can you go to the hospital or a birth center? For my first pregnancy I didn't have to pay copays and whatnot when going to the hospital.

Don't stress about it. Do your kids go to daycare or anything? Maybe set up some play dates at your house and then let the kids run wild while the other mom helps around the house a bit? (I know they would have to be reallllly good friends to do all that).

Hope you're able to keep up the rest, I suppose the Doc is right but that must be so frustrating.

Justine... you know if you want to put your mind at ease you can always go to the ER and they will give you an U/S. Are you having any cramping? It's a good sign (if there is such a thing in this situation) that the blood is brown and not red. It's because of that (and the no cramping) that my doc wasn't in a rush to get me in to an appt... but when I had both they squeezed me in. I'm sure everything is OK, and can't wait to find out for real! Until then, just try to stay calm and get some rest! Sending you T&P!

I know, I totally feel like lying sometimes and saying I am having cramping & bright red bleeding! I have been having people come in to help as much as I can; babysitter came today and my BIL came yesterday. Tomorrow I am on my own & really dreading it, since my 2-year-old has been really awful. I think he can tell when I am stressed & he acts up more. I am not supposed to be picking the kids up, but I had to drag him to his room 3 times this afternoon for timeouts.

Anyway, trying to stay positive & be patient & not feel too discouraged, but it has definitely been a difficult week.
