Weird Symptom???

I've been experiencing this really odd sensation in my throat for the past 2-3 days. I'm not even sure how to describe it succinctly enough to google it.

Basically, it feels like I have a tiny foot wedged in the base of my throat. Or like my stomach is compressed upwards. I'm not feeling any acid or anything associated with heartburn...just a lot of pressure and tightness. Anyone else familiar with this?

Ummmm...I had that when I ate too much shrimp and lobster! Any hives or itching? Swelling lips or tongue? Tingling of the face? Maybe you have eaten something and are having a mild allergy. That is my best assumption. Allergies can develop at any point in our lives. I ate shellfish all the time until one night my body said ENOUGH! Now...no more. Boo. Sad I'd mention it to your doctor. I may be totally wrong though.

I agree that it could be some type of allergic reaction... but it could also be heartburn as well. I get more of what you're describing than an actual burning sensation when I have heartburn (which, BTW, I only have when I'm pregnant!). I would definitely mention it to your doc, though.

I get it too. It happens when I eat too much and can last for hours! The problem is that our stomachs are being pushed up on and there is way less room. Think of it as free gastric bypass! Smile

I think that is exactly what it is. I'll bring it up to midwife at my routine appointment on Thursday. Annoying!

Could it be part of congestion? You know that yucky sticky feeling when something attacks your sinuses but you just can't budge it at all? Like glue?

Sounds like what the others are saying. I hope it eases up for you soon
