Wow...

Thought you all might want to check out Say Anything board for HollyBenElla's post.

That makes me sad.

Thanks for pointing that out, Jen. Here is a link to the post for interested parties:

I'm feeling a lot of emotions. Missy's response was really excellent.

I wish Holly the best of luck in recovery & all future endeavors.

I hope this doesn't negatively affect the board. As Missy so eloquently expressed, this forum really has a unique spirit of compassion and support (so many mommy e-communities have a negative/judgemental tone). I'm relatively new to my area and thus far due to work schedule its been difficult for me to meet other expectant moms through my birth center. This forum is really important to me. I love the fact that we're all at different life stages and have experience to share - thanks to ya'll, I know how many cloth diapers to order for the first few weeks and so much more.

that woman has been around the boards for a really long time making up names and really upsetting people. i really hope that she is serious in her wanting to get help and that this isn't just another attempt to stir things up.

i have been a member of pg.org for 4 years now and i've made some really good friends on here. ok, fine, so i've never actually met these people but through posting here and being friends on facebook you really get to know people. and i've learned a TON not only about TTC and having and raising a baby but also have gotten some really great advice and help when i was going through infertility problems and a miscarriage. it's a shame when people take advantage of other people's trust. but for the most part this board has been really great.

That's too bad. I've been on the boards for 5 years now, and this has happened on more than one of the boards I frequent.

I hope she gets the help she needs, whoever she is.

It's sad, but every public board has a troll. We had a few in our March 06 board back in the day. It's really wild what length people will go. Posting other peoples photos as their own, making up crazy stories, and even going to meet ups. One was a nanny using her charges as her family. Just remember to protect you and your family's identity and personal information. Be wary of "friending" people you meet on the Internet.

My sister-in-law (Pammypoohbear) just pointed this out to me. I have to say as someone that actually did have a m/c this really, really upsets me. Especially in the November group, with all the m/c's we've had. I hope she gets the help she needs.

I sussed her when she posted about the triplets....over here if you are bleeding they do not give you an emergency scan.
I did mention my concern to a couple of people but thought she had checked out okay..but avoided her for a while.
I am kind of embarressed...maybe thinking that she is the one who has been outed before should make it better..but all I can think is it seems to be the Brits who are trolls and I feel ashamed.
We're not all like that, us Brits are normally cool.
I'm sorry that someone who you all welcomed so well has done this to all of us.
but I'm sorry for you guys as this is mostly a US and Candian site and you extended a welcome to us.
Good knows why I feel like I should apologise for her...but..there you go.
I too hope she is genuine in her apology and hope she doesn't do it again, although how long would it be until we know?
And mostly i hope she gets all the help she needs and can finally be well enough to start her own family.
xx

Liz - I am sure I speak for all of us when I say we love you. Please don't apologize for her.

While I to hope she gets the help she needs I am a little upset about this. I don't understand mental illness so I really don't want to judge. But I find it hard - I had no inkling that her story was not real - I always believe the best in people. And after so many m/c and a very diffifult multiple pregnancy I really felt bad for her. I worried about her and was devastated with what she was going through. Now I feel stupid for wasting my emotions on her. I guess I will never understand people who do stuff like this. This is a great site with amazing women. Lets move on!

Thanks Mel.
Justbto clarify i said in my post they don't scan if your bleeding..i meant at 4 weeks they don't do emergency scans.

Try not to feel bad..the goodthing about these boards is the compassion we all show each other new and old..thats what makes it so wonderful.
But i concur..lets all move on.

I agree. What she did seems like a really selfish thing to do (IMHO). I actually posted something on one of her threads giving her advice on what to do about "one of her daughters." I can't imagine how many others on here have given her advice or uplifting words (whether under this name or another one). If what she says is true, then she could certainly still post in the TTC portion of these message boards. I think she might need a little more than therapy to go around pretending to have children and be pregnant, making friendships and possibly influencing a lot of people on here... and hurting them in the end when they find out that she was really just full of crap.

Also, it's not fair to the thousands of other wonderful women on here who (like her) have had diffuculties conceiving and many multiple miscarriages and still are on here posting their "true" stories which continue to uplift us all. Shame on her... I hope she gets the help that she clearly needs and stops messing around with people's feelings on here.

I can personally attest that nationality never entered my mind at any point! LOL - no apologies are even kind of due Lizbet and we're SO glad to have the US/Canadians/Brits/Aussies/New Zealanders we do!

Lol well she made it obvious that she was from the UK because she used the word "mummy" in her "I need therapy, still love me" nonsense post! No matter... every nationality has a few "nutters!" Look at Tom Cruise! ROFL

I went back and looked at her posting history, and everything has been deleted. I wonder if she did that, or the moderators??

Lizbet, we all love you and appreciate everything you contribute to this board. And we miss you. You shouldn't feel like you need to apologize.

Hi ladies,

Just want to clear this up. No, we do not delete posts. In this case, as per Missy's note, the member went through and edited all her posts herself to remove them.

P.S. To members - as you note everything has been self-deleted. I am deeply sorry for the impact that this may have had on those within our community. It is not reflective of the majority of our members who are as they claim. Trust that is definitely never wasted - including on this individual. You also are welcome to contact me privately anytime if you have a question or concern.

The trolls we had long ago were from the US, so no worries about having a troll monopoly Lizbet!

I didn't follow her story, but claiming a 4 wk ultrasound is goofy. I don't think they do them that early anywhere... So weird to claim kids or a spouse you don't have. I don't get it, but I suspect it happens more than we realize.

Wow. That stinks that she felt that she needed to do that--multiple times. I do hope she is sincere in wanting and hopefully seeking help.
