Hard to believe that our lo's are all nearing the 2 month mark, and the 2 month appt. Lets chat
I should call and make that appt before the clinic fills up that week. Ha.
Kyla has her 1 month appointment tonight - she was born 11/27 but they said we could make the appt for after the holidays so we'll be going tonight at 6:30! i think she's doing great so i'm sure it'll just be routine - although her nose is a little stuffy and i have the humidifire going - tried the saline spray and aspirator and i can't get anything out ... so i'll talk about that tonight with the doctor
Gideon had his a week early but when he went he was 11#8ounces and 21.5".
Jackie- lol. I purposly made Kellens at his very first appt because I knew I would forget otherwise.
I still havent gotten around to figuring out what genetics person the kids can see now that our ins has changed. Guess I should get on thay sooner than later lol
Marissa- how did the appt go?
Tif- What a big man I read your check in. Im glad they got the food stuff figured out. Im sorry about the reflux. Why do they have such an issue putting him on the meds?
Kellen's appt is on the 17th. Im interested to see how much he weighs now. Hes my little brick lol. He didnt have his hep a vacine in the hospital, so hes delayed on that one. I also delay my kids on getting the chicken pox one. DS1 had an alergic reaction to it, so the others get it when its the only vacine they will get that time. DS2 got his at his 3 yr appt last year since he was starting school. I think that Im going to do the same with DD and Kellen as well. I am super nervous about shots right now. My sister's DD broke her leg getting hers (the nurse shifted to reach for something when she had her legs pinned and it broke). My sister suggested that I be the one to hold their legs (DD and Kellen both have the OI) but I hate being in the room when they get them done...
We can't make appts more than a month out at this base clinic. So always have to remember to call in for one. Annoying! I wish we had more ped choices here. It's go on base or to the one office off base. We live on base and the off base one is for the whole county (omg the sick kids we'd be exposed to for well visits!), but the base clinic pissed me off yesterday. Got a call saying my son was overdue on vaccinations ad I *have* to take him in for those, No, I don't you idiot. We selectively vaccinate. Now go bug off.
That's so sad about her leg breaking!
Ugg. What a pain. Hopefully they can get you in. I wish I would have been in the room for that conversation lol. We get reminders in the mail from our ins co. every nowand then reminding us that one of the kids is coming up on needing a wrll check up, but never the clinic itself. And, def not about them HAVING to get a vac., or evening being due for any.
My niece is almost 1, and it was at her 2 mo or so check up (E, if you read this, which was it?). Any who, we just switched to the same clinic, and even though that nurse doesnt work with that doctor any more its still in the back of my mind. Though, Ive always had to leave the room when my babies have gotten shots. I know its for their own good, I just cant watch them hurt my baby
I also think the base is a little pissy that I haven't taken Aiden for a well check since we moved here last spring, but I'm on of those weird mamas that doesn't care to waste my time just to find out how much he weighs and how tall he is. Guess what, I can do that myself. I'll take Zoe in for hers till 1 and then only if there are concerns or if she's sick.
The few shots Aiden has I nursed him during or right afterwards, so he stop fussing really quick (if he fussed at all). It is so hard watching though!
Ok, just have to boast a bit here. Kellen is becoming such a happy guy now He is cooing and smiling so much, and has even started a little laugh. Also, it has been almost a week since I have had to give him any acid reflux meds, and the last 2 nights he has fallen asleep by 9pm and not woken up till after 6am to eat again. I know that the sleeping could just be a phase, but I will take it lol. Its amazing the difference between your first or even 2nd baby and your 4th. DS1 didnt really sleep through the night till he was 3 (though, I weened him at 13 months) and when DS2 came home sleeping 4 to 6 hr or so stretches I would wake up panicked to check on him. Now, its like my body is like NOPE, if this kid sleeps, so do you lol. at least at night, any way The other difference is that you dont get that lovely "sleep when they do" option like you do with your first. Oh, and Kellen has also started rolling to his side every now and then, and if hes in his bouncer leaned back hes started trying to do sit ups. AND, I am starting to have to put away his newborn stuff and pull out the 0-3/3 month clothes... its crazy how fast these babies seem to grow up
Piper goes for hers on the 18th. She is huge, I can already tell. My last 2 were this way too. Always in the 95% or higher. She's been out of NB clothes for about a week now. 3M fits her well. I'm guessing she's around 14 lbs now. It made me sad to pack up her too-small clothes!
When I held Kellen and stepped on the scale he was about 10 lbs. None of my kids have ever been over the 25% mark... except for head circumference lol. Infact, DD has never been on the charts for height and weight. I know Kellen is bigger than what his sister was at this age, and probably just about as big as what DS1 was
Any nightlights with appts this week? Kellen's is on thursday
Amaris finally started to gain weight! After falling from birth weight of 8lbs 15 oz to 7lbs 11oz, she was 10lbs 13 oz at 2 months She'll be 3 months in 6 days I'm guessing she's up to about 13lbs now. She's smiling a lot and has started giggling and laughing
aww. big girl I have discovered that Kellen is tickelish lol. I love this part of baby hood. When they are still so small and cuddly, but starting to interact more and more. I have noticed that since Kellen has started gooing and all that that he seems much happier and content
Today is Kellen's appt. This morning he woke up with a bloody nose He has been stuffed up for a while now, and most mornings he wakes up not able to breathe threw his nose and I have to suck it out before he will nurse well. I'm hoping that the doctor will have a remidy because the saline and suction combo just doesnt seem to cut it... and I think may even just be making it worse
