32 week appt/ Ultrasound

So, my appt went good. Baby is measuring at about 3lbs 10oz, though my doc did say that with the femurs still measuring about 2.5 weeks behind (which is taken greatly into account when the computer shoots out a weight guess) that he is probably closer to 4lbs. She also mentioned that babies at 32 weeks are typically 1/2 their 40 week weight. My kids arent the norm though. DS1 was born at 38.5 weeks (via induction, because he had slowed down and just about stopped growing) and was only 6lbs. My 36 weekers were 5lbs 8z, and 5lbs 5oz.... Either way she def. made it sound like she didnt expect me to make it past 37 weeks at all. I am really hoping that my new OB will be willing to induce a bit earlier (IE. after 37 weeks, but before I have a bigger baby) because I do NOT want a section. I mean, my 6lbs got stuck and was nearly a section (luckily the vacuum worked... though I dont want that used again either)... I dont see me getting a baby much bigger out. But, I really dont see that big of a baby fitting in side of me. With my other babies it seems like they get to a certain length/size and my body say enough.

any who. So, my MIL and SIL ended up coming with me to the U/S because of DH being out of town (I dropped the hooligans off at my mom's and she watched them while I was at my appt). My MIL had NEVER seen an ultrasound, and the looks on her face were priceless. My doc did an awesome job explaining what everything was, what she was measuring, etc. Wee dude is def. still head down, with his leggs all folded up on themselves up by my ribs (hense the jabs, and pain, I am getting up there). I asked her about what I was feeling down by my left hip bone, so she took a look. Its his hands. His face is also right there, and it was so cute seeing him. He kept covering his eyes, yawning, looking like he was practicing eating, and moving around. my MIL teared up at that point. It was so nice being able to share that with her. Def. a priceless moment for us all Smile

I'm glad your appointment went well. You're so close now. It is really fun when you get to share those type of moments with family. My MIL never got to go to appointments with her daughter, so we've taken her too our gender ultrasounds for both Hannah and this little one.

Thank you. It is nice. Last appt wee dude's god mother came with DH and I. My mom has been to several of my U/S's through out my pregnancies, as well as my sisters and a couple other friends. I dont like going alone, call me crazy. So, if DH didnt come with me for some reason, then I have always found someone else to go.

oh, I also forgot to mention in my last post, WEE DUDE HAS HAIR!!! The doctor said from what she saw, he has a lot. I KNEW IT lol. All of my kids have been born with hair, each progressively having more. Serenity had a ton of black hair, so if the trend continues, I am sure wee dude is going to look like a monkey tee hee

Glad things went well and you have a growing boy! Its nice to be able to bond with the In laws. Mine live 6 hrs away and we dont see them very often, so I dont get to do much of that. Thats crazy that they can see hair and everything on the ultrasound now!! Im sure if your body cant handle a big baby that it will go into labor on its own! Good luck with the new OB!

Glad you had a good appointment! That's great your MIL got to be there. Mine doesn't even care to talk about the fact I'm having a baby. Blum 3

You should look into different birthing positions! If you don't have an epi, squatting and even being on all 4s should open your pelvis a lot more than typical birthing positions so you can birth this baby without issue. Just a thought because less than 5% of women actually have a true pelvis disorder to keeps them from birthing the baby they've grown. Smile
