37 week appointment, I may go early?

Baby has dropped and is locked and loaded, ready to go. My doc says this usually means labor within two weeks. We will be cutting it close! I've never gone into labor on my own, and would really rather wait until my date. I'm a control freak Smile

If he comes at 38 or 39 weeks he'll be fine. So will you.

Personally at 36 weeks I'm planning on serving this baby his eviction notice. Now he may fight me on it tooth and nail like everything else this pregnancy but I'm hopeful that after the hell he's put me through he'll cooperate for once.

Guess you'll see! Sometimes that means baby is coming soon and in my case with my son it meant another 5 weeks. lol

Thats pretty typical for your 1st. With consecutive kids them dropping usually triggers labor sooner. The night my Ds2 dropped my water broke. Each baby, and mamma, is different though, so its all a waiting game

I've never gone early, or shown any signs. DD was 42 weeks :). This is the first time my doc said he didn't think I'd make it. I think because it is my fifth pregnancy, and like you said Kier, in subsequent pregnancies dropping usually happens right before labor, if at all. My last two never did. I have also been having some discharge, and contractions. We'll see! It's a strange feeling to think he could come anytime!

That's exciting! I mean, I know it might not mean anything, but it's still exciting to think that he could come any time now. I, too, hope that I go up until my due date. I don't think I will be totally prepared for this baby to come until then. I need every possible day I can get to prepare for Christmas, get baby stuff ready, get things squared away for maternity leave, etc. I guess I am a control freak too. Smile I did go several days before my due date with DS1, but not super early. I will say that the day that he dropped was the day I went into labor. I woke up and I remember thinking, Wow! He is really, really low!" and a couple hours later I was having consistent contractions and he was born at 4:00am.
