:( 38 week appointment
Had my 38 week appointment... Looks like we're scheduling a C-Section on my due date for the 29 or 30. My pelvis is too small for baby. He can't go down anymore, and my body isn't budging. I'm so frustrated. I wish he would just do a c-section before.... but he's waiting til my EDD, because he wants everything to try to go natural... They will not let me labor more then 4 hours without progression.. I'd rather just schedule a section and get it over with. I wanted a drug free natural birth, but I guess that is out of the cards :(
If you want to go natural and want to try, I think I would be talking them out of the 4 hour rule and laboring as much as possible at home first or even finding a different doctor if offended by their choices for your birth experience..
You still do have 2 weeks, I hope you get the birth that you truly want. Was your daughter c-sec?
9 times out of 10 it isnt that you are too "small" to get them out, its just the position that they are in. I am extremely small compared to the average adult, and have OI, and I was able to have all of my babies out vaginally. The only time I had trouble was with my first, and it was due to him being posterior with his head tilted....
Look into spinning babies, and seeing a chiropractor (if you can). I had tons of on again off again labor this time and I really think that the things I tried off of spinning babies, and then getting adjusted, made such a HUGE difference... getting wee dude into the correct GO position.
Hang in there, and if you ever feel that your doctor is pushing what they want on you, question it. Its your L&D experiance, not theirs.
She's not my daughter... she's my step daughter, lol..
And Baby is head down, but can't push through anymore. This happened to a few of my cousins and one of my sisters- they labored between 30-40 hours then baby's couldn't get through so emergency c-section it was. I trust my Dr. 100%, he was my specialist for cancer and has done surgery on me before, and I know he has my and baby's best interest, so I'm ok with it. Considering I WAS dialated and now I'm closed up again....As long as my son gets here healthy and safe, I'm ok with it.
I alsop haven't had anything hapen in the last weeks - no BH, nothing. My body isn't really working all that well.
I was in the same position as you for weeks. From 35 weeks to 38 weeks, I had absolutely no signs of labor. Not even the occasional BH. So don't let that convince you that your body doesn't work properly! I just had a 5-hour natural birth, despite everything being super quiet for about a month.
