38 week and final check up before baby

Doc appt today, no changes. So I assume still 1 cm. Discussed with the doc about getting my tubes tied. I signed the consent already but have been really going back and forth with it. Yesterday I came to the conclusion I don't want to and DH said he'd get the V done :teethchatter:. He has a new insurance so we aren't sure how much that would cover. I told the doc ( a new ob btw, but he's been an ob for many years, I like him more than my regular ob.) my concerns like heavy periods that last a long time, etc and that my mom had that for many years as well ( she also had a tubal). So he told me and drew me a pic of what he does and it doesn't have anything to do with the hormones (another concern of mine) and that your body will go back to the way it was prior to using any contraception. Still so torn. This is gonna be a long 6 days! Lots of thinking to do. I got the preop for the c sec too. It was funy cuz he said i really don't have to discuss with you too much on what you have to do to prepare since you've had 2 c sections before. I told him, " Well the first was a emergency after 30 hours labor and the 2nd was because she came early so they took me in after 12 hours. This is my 1st preop!" LOL!

Glad you liked the doc and that he was able to answer your questions and concerns. DH and I have discussed it and he offered to get a V. I've delivered soon to be 6 babies so it's his turn! I know it's different in your case since you'll be having a csection. It's a hard decision. I hope you can decide what's best for you!

Thanks Belinda! It is such a hard decision. You are so brave having 6! Ialways pictured us with 3 so I"m content, but I admire and love big families! I"m also gonna be 33 on 11/6 so that plays a role in all of this as well. I think of alot of things like age, complications, read a lot about heavy periods and long periods from tubals. My mom had a tubal and growing up she always had like 3 week long periods. And had issues. She never indicated if it happened after she had her tubal done ornot (she passed 5 years ago so can'[t ask) I read too much. This doc today did help me understand some things so that was good and I am still considering. But dh says the same thing, I've been though all of this he will go ahead with the V. I do think saying it and doing it are 2 different things! LOL! So we shall see!

Yay for a good appt. Dh inforned me a few months ago that as soon as wee dude is out he is scheduling his Vas to be done before my 6 week pp check up. I have always told him that if he wants to be sure we are done he needs to be the one to do it. Ive been pregnant, and given birth... He can take this one for the team. Also, for men its an in office thing, no lifting and ice for a couple days, abd back to normal. Its a tad more invasive for us mamas. Maybe if I was already having a section I would be more inclined to do it, but even then its hard for me to fathem. I keep thinking of all the what ifs. Like what if something happened to DH and I got remarried and wanted to have another baby with him? DH has already said that he is done no matter what, so, it only makes sense that he be the one to get fixed Wink
