Bacterial Vaginosos? TMI

I know I have a few of you on my FB but I thought I'd ask here in hopes somebody has any advice!

TMI
Bacterial Vaginosis: has anyone had this? So apparently thats what I have and have had it since my first pap but nobody told me until yesterday- so I got medicine for it- yet im nervous because I read some things that say its bad for baby and shouldnt take and some that say its fine... but left untreated causes preterm labor and rupture of membranes and other bad stuff... So took the meds last night and today, and now today I'm spotting but its. TMI... chunky.. like chunky things coming out when I pee? Its not like period-like goo blood, its more like pink... weird...chunks..... do you think thats just the bacteria coming out or should I be worried??? I asked during the exam if I'd spot/bleed/cramp and he said if I did it'd be within the next 30 min so its been over 24 hours (i didnt actually get the exam bcuz of stupid uterus but he did yank things around trying to turn it) It's so weird bcuz he made it clear that it was pretty rampant and obvious for him that I had BV- even though I havent had ANY discharge/smell/pain/itch so w/o him checking I never would of known! so weird..... Thoughts?? Think these pink chunky things are norm???

A friend of mine had it with all 3 of her pregnancies. With each of them she never had "symptoms". With her first it went un treated and her membranes ruptured at 36 weeks. With the other 2 she had to be on heavy duty antibiotics. Luckily, she was able to make it past 37 weeks having it treated.

I would say the discharge is probably normal. As long as its not heavy bleeding and you arent cramping, I would just chalk it up to things running its course.... though, if it continues for too much longer I would definitely go in, or at least call.

I just figured I'd post and say that I had this when I wasn't pregnant twice and it can cause some weird stuff to happen. I've had it with and without symptoms. It's caused some weird discharge for me. One time, and not sure I had it that time or not, I just passed little clots for days. They finally put me on antibiotics and gave me depo to stop the bleeding. That was years ago! I guess I'm prone because of immunity issues but it's not a fun thing to have even without symptoms. I would say the discharge probably isn't that unusual, but I'd call the doc if it continues. I hope it goes away soon!

That doesn't sound fun, and I hope you are clearing up and feeling better already!

I'm wondering what kind of medicine they gave you. Did they give you the suppository or the pill called Flagyl or something like that. I have a very sensitive vagina and tend to get BV a lot. I am going to say that yes, I've had chunky discharge with it too. I had to do so much research on things I can do to get rid of it. One thing that I know has helped me and my chronic BV is taking garlic suppliments. And acidophiles. or upping my yogurt intake. I wish you the best with this mean little infection and I hope yours will go away and never come back!

Thanks girls! Finished my meds... Umm the med I have was called...metzo...or M-something... it goes inside the vagina in a big tube (the exact same tubes as preseed, except the full dosage )
was kind of "funny' because I ran out of tubes (i accidently threw one away) and I had leftover preseed tubes so used that.
STill a little Gelly type goo coming out but not bloody or clotty,
Just incase, I rescheduled my doc appt to a week earlier so I could check it out.
Thanks for advice about the garlic or acidophilas suppliments, i used to take acidoph. a lot and stopped when I got preg so maybe I'll start taking it again! And Ive been avoiding yogurt as well- so might be good to get some good bacteria in there!!

Ahhh that explains the discharge! That type of meds always comes out chunky and stuff! I had some like that for a yeast infection and it was all cottage cheese looking when it was coming out!! Glad you are done with the meds!!!
