birth control???

What is everyone doing, or thinking of doing, for birth control (if anything)?

NFP with spermicidal films during fertile periods. That's what we did for 3 years after Kostas and it worked well for us.

Another FAM/NFP family here.

We've pretty much JLIH for the entirety of our marriage thus far, but after my surgery last year I'm probably a whole lot more fertile than before. I think we'll probably want to attempt to manage things a bit more this time around, but we haven't decided yet exactly how careful we want to be.

I have my PP check up tonight. My doctor was trying totalk me onto the shot , but I really dont want to do anything hormonal with nursing wee dude. Especially since DH is talking about getting a vas done. So, I think till thats done, and we know for sure that it took, we will just obstaine. I have no lib any way, so it wont be too hard lol. Also, after DD it took a year, and for me to stopnursing completely before I got my cycle back... So I am not too worried.

It kind of makes me sad to think that Ill never be pregnant again, but we have 4 kids, and know its time for the next chapter in our lives

It took us 3 years to get Aiden. I didn't bother charting or anything after he was born. AF came back at 7 months and at 16 months learned I was pregnant. That was a welcomed shock! So I'm guessing for the first time ever I'll have to put effort into avoiding unless I want #3 sooner....which we don't! But I'm not going to bother charting till after AF comes back.

I got the mini pill yesterday at my check up. I'll take that until I stop BFing, then go to the regular pill. We have used FAM before and it worked well, but I decided I didn't want to do it this time because I'm sure we don't want to try for anymore children. I found myself to be always thinking about it and running numbers in my head, etc. And I'm afraid I'll talk myself into planning another baby. I'll probably be on the pill until DH decides to get a vasectomy.

After DS we only used condoms. Any kind of hormonal birth control wreaks havoc with my depression which is really well controlled right now. Sure don't want to take a chance! We are just going to be careful until we decide if we are done having kiddos.

It took us 2.5 years to get DD, and then 3.5 years to get M. But as he was conceived only 3 months after my surgery and AF came back at 9 months PP with DD (even though she was EBF, nursing at least every 2 hours around the clock, and wasn't even eating solids), I'm expecting we'll need to do a bit more planning unless we want #3 super close.

I'm not really looking forward to charting. The only time I did that was between my two miscarriages to see if I had a luteal phase defect (no) and to increase our chances of conceiving (we did, quickly, but we lost that baby, too). Hopefully it won't be as stressful this time, since it isn't motivated by a loss.

I only chart day six through the thermal shift. It makes it easier. Although the last cycle I charted I didn't consider myself fertile through the four day temp rise. Now we have Owen Smile

I'm getting the implant probably. My doctor said it lasted about three years an nd since its in the arm I don't have to worry about it falling out like the iud. if after the three years we're still sure we're fine, I'll talk to DH about a vasectomy.

I was actually curious about the implant but totally forgot to ask my doctor about it. She said how about mirena and I just agreed and forgot to ask about the implant.
