We've been pretty slow around here lately. What is everyone up to? How are your nightlights doing?
We are doing pretty good here. For the most part he still STTN but because of the teething he has his rough nights here and there. He's almost sitting up on his own. He can for at least a minute or so before he starts to kinda of lean or he leans all the way forward and grabs his feet for support.
Awww. big guy Kellen has been having some issues with sleeping. I had influenza the other week and it threw us all off. Luckily Kellen never got it, but he started to stay up till midnight, then wouldnt sleep unless he was being held or latched right next to me in bed. I have been working on his schedule as far as making sure he is up more during the day, especially the couple of hrs before we usually go to bed. It seems to be helping, but hes still up more than he had been, and in our bed the majority of the night. It wouldnt be so bad if I wasnt also fighting a sinus infection now ugg.
Kellen is such a happy guy. If hes up hes usually smiling, and laughing away. He is so close to rolling over. He ends up doing little circles around the carpet when hes on the floor. He has been holding his head up for a while. He also likes to bat at toys, and grab whatever he can to get to his mouth to suck. I def thik hes so content to just chat with everyone that hes in no rush to roll all the way over. Which, I am ok with. I'm already chasing 3 other hooligans around, if he wants to take his time getting mobile, I am OK with that lol
I feel soooo busy these days! I took over as leader for the local babywearing group. It needed lots of help, so I've devoted quite a bit of time to it in trying to get regular meetings set up in two different cities, start up a lending library, and keep the FB page and group going. Meanwhile I'm still very active in the cloth diaper group and LLL here. We're out of the house quite a bit! I've taken up sewing this past month and what time I used to spend online I now spend sewing dresses, diapers, and more.
Zoe has gone from newborn to active baby almost overnight! She's already trying to sit up. Like seriously, already?!?! She's figured out rolling the past couple of days and at the rate she's advancing in that she'll be rolling across the room soon. She's grabbing her toys now and figured out how to yank on a couple of the musical ones so they'll play. Sleep is fine. Some nights she'll do a 4-5 hour stretch and others she's wanting to nurse every hour. There's only been one night this past month where she's woken up and decided it was playtime in the middle of the night. Usually she doesn't even wake up fully! Some nights she starts off in her crib, but we're mostly happily cosleeping. I'm sooooo grateful for her good sleep because her brother was not a sleeper his first year!
We've been busy as well, I've pretty much got Carson on a good schedule but he still isn't STTN. I usually get a good 7-8 hours out of him and then he's up every 2 1/2 -3 hrs. Because DS1's school is 30 mins away it's tough on Carson - we're in the car a good 2 hrs a day driving back and forth, he either sleeps the whole way or screams the whole way. At this point he absolutely hates his car seat from all the time he spends in it. I try to make up for all the time he spends in the car seat by putting him in the Moby wrap whenever I'm out and about and he's awake. He also hates tummy time so much still and last week he figured out how to roll over (from tummy to back) so it's even more of a battle now. Before I was concerned about his lack of eye contact but it's gotten 90% better, he's really a little ham and pretty social now. We're still having to swaddle to help him sleep longer so I guess he hasn't outgrown his startle reflex yet. He's in the 100 percentile for both height and weight and because of his length he's wearing 6-9 month clothing! He's definitely a much bigger boy than DS1 was.
Kellen had his 4 mo. appt this morning and he is 12lbs (0%), 23"(0%), and I forget his head circumference, but it was in the .5%. He is right where he should be mile stone wise. He rolled from his belly to his back the other day, is trying to roll from his back to belly, but still gets hung up on his arms. He is such a happy go lucky guy (most of the time). He loves to giggle, interact with people, and is def. getting bored easier if you put him down. He is starting to try to pull himself up to sit when hes in his bouncer so I have stopped putting him in there since he doesnt have the control to keep himself up right and flops forward once he pulls himself up. I remember how much I wanted my first to do things... and he did, pretty quick... But with Kellen, I am happy just enjoying this baby time. The sooner he gets mobile the sooner I will have 4 to chase, so I am happy if he takes his time lol.
I have been doing weight watchers since just after my birthday, and I am now a lbs under where I was when I got pregnant with Dayne (my first). I havent been this weight since my freshman year of college. I have 2 more lbs to go to get to my goal weight. My goal is to get there before my 10th week of WW. Then, once I maintain it for 6 weeks I get my lifetime membership and no longer have to pay for my meetings, weigh ins, or apps. With weight watchers another big goal is to make it to 16 weeks. Because, once you hit 16 weeks research shows that you are more likely to lose your weight and keep it off. So, my goal is to hit life time, and the 16 week goal, at the same time.
Having hit these milestones has made me feel a lot better about being done having kids. I am focusing on myself more, and it feels good. I am also getting more confident, and feeling better about my self in general. And, I know that another baby would take me back to square one with the weight loss. I have spent so long completely dedicated to my kids, that I have forgotten about myself. Its now time for me to not only focus on my kids, but on myself. It feels selfish at times , but I also know that me being healthier and happier with me, means that I will be a better mom to my kids, and so on. Finding balance is a struggle, but I am def. closer than what I was even a couple weeks ago.
I went back to work in the last week of February but I came back part time. I just wasn't ready to leave home yet and leave him with a sitter five days a week even if it is family. Seans doing well. We haven't had our four month check up yet so I can't give percentages but I'd say he's probably about 13 lbs and close to 25 inches if not more. He's got a super long torso so often the 3-6 month onsies are stretched to the absolute limit but some fit just fine still. We're hitting our spring weather now so we've been out in the yard a fair amount the past few weeks. He loves the feel of the grass and thinks animals are wonderful. He's reaching out to pet the cats and he gets so excited over the birds and squirrels on the fence.
