Chest Pain?

So, I DO have bad anxiety - but have only had one or two attacks since being pregnant...

Last night, and today, I get these sharp stabbing pains around my shoulder blade and on the left side by my heart, kind of above my ribs.. they don't last long, but I also get dizzy and feel faint, kind of like an attack, but this would be a long anxiety attack... I don't necessarily feel like sitting in the ER, but, I'm not exactly sure if a clinic would be able to help at this point (I'm not certain this is pregnancy related so I don't want to call my OB), I don't know if maybe it's just chest cavity pain from growing and things moving in there or???? I don't really have much I am anxious about right now, so I don't see it being anxiety, but, gah, who knows, but, my bf is on afternoon shift and not home until 2a.m, which I completely hate when I Feel like this, especially feeling dizzy and stuff... I just wish there was an easy answer! I mean, I don't think I'm having a heart attack (lol) - I eat decently and have low blood pressure and excercise as much as I can... , but chest pain isn't always easy to ignore...

The dizziness and faint feeling when you have the pain is what I am worried about. There could be a million things that could cause the pain, but combined with the other symptoms... it definitely is concerning. I have had anxiety attacks in the past, and this doesnt sound like that. If it keeps happening I would call your OB, or just go in. Better safe than sorry Smile

I suffer from G.E.R.D and it definitely isn't heartburn.. it's on the side of the armpit not where Reflux is.

Annnnnd, my anxiety attacks sometimes I feel like my heart goes down into my shoes and up into my throat in 2 seconds flat, I get dizzy, out of breath, my arms go numb, etc. Usually it goes away after I relax a couple minutes, listen to some rain sound effects, and put ice under my armpit...

I have a feeling this is just my normal reaction to pregnancy and things moving around in there...

I had this with DD! I had to give up work because I couldn't stand up all day with the dizziness. It seemed to get worse as the pregnancy went on but started around 14 weeks. I never got any answers to what it was, but I have always wondered/suspected if it was related to the mild anxiety that I get. It felt 'kind' of like an anxiety attack but different, really hard to explain... I so hope it doesn't hang around for you!!! But I totally feel for you, I know how unpleasant it is, especially while working! I really hope you feel better soon /hugs

Also, I would get it checked out it... just to rule out anything dangerous and it would be good if you could get some answers, and maybe even something to help!

It's so scary at some points. I'm pretty sure my shortness of breath is pregnancy related, the rest, I dunno...

I'll mention it to my OB at my 20 wk apt... however if I forget I'll try to sneak in and see my family Dr. before or after... I'm not 100% certain this is pregnancy related.

Thanks ladies!

Scary! I hope your doctors can find some answers for you so you at least know what is happening!

Starting at about 7 weeks with this one, I got VERY dizzy quite frequently, and even passed out at 8 weeks. My OB sent me to the ER to get checked out, and then to the cardiologist. All checked out ok, so they think it's pregnancy related. The dizziness has subsided some now, but I'm having a lot of anxiety recently (hello, hormones!) and am struggling to manage that. I have had a stuffy nose all pregnancy this time (at first thought it was springtime allergies, but it's still going strong) and I think that's also part of my dizziness (inner ear stuff) and shortness of breath.

I was glad to get it all checked out, so I'd definitely talk to your OB and your other doctor if you can get an appointment. Better to be sure!

My nose is seriously stuffed up too... Every morning I wake up, blow my nose and get a bloody nose. If it doesn't bleed right then, dry blood comes out. I've been stuffy since before I found out I was pregnant (like maybe 3-4 weeks into the pregnancy I thought it was allergies too but nope rhinitis of pregnancy, woo) and my ears... so itchy, it feels like my brain is itchy.... I have perforated both my ear drums in the last 3 months....

I am kind of happy I am only having one baby....
