This cold is killllllling me!

Oh dear goodness! I have had this cold for almost a week and I feel like I'm dying. I don't think it would be a big deal if I could knock it out with some Ibprofen and Sudafed (which is what I usually do). I'm even staying home from work tomorrow because I feel so awful, which I never do.

To top it off my house is a disaster and DH keeps complaining about it. Hello? I'm pregnant and have a ridiculously big cold! Sorry I'm not scrubbing the floors!

Has anyone else dealt with a horrible cold while pregnant? Any tips or advice? Right now all I doing is taking Tylenol, sucking on cough drops and drinking tons of water.

BTW tell DH to go scrub the floors if he is going to complain!!

I hope you feel better soon Smile

I got a horrible cold which included a cough so awful that it sounded like I was going to lose a lung when I was pregnant with DS! Wish I had good news, but it never went away 100% till he was born. It was like my poor 3rd tri body just couldn't fight it off while pregnant. Sad (I do have a poor immune system due to having toxic shock before.)

Feel better soon!! I got a bad cold a few weeks ago; runny nose, coughing, sneezing, aches, headache, the works. I finally got over it about a week and a half ago. It sounds like you're doing everything you should be doing for a cold. Just take some tylenol, rest, and chicken soup! Biggrin

When I asked my OB about what I could take he told me Tylenol, Mucinex (but I think not Mucinex D) and Claritin (he said they market it as an allergy medicine but it works amazingly well for the common cold - and it's a safer medicine to take during pregnancy) and It really did help tons. Also getting a neti pot or something similar for nasal irrigation and a warm mist humidifier helped clear up my stuffiness a bit and help with coughing at night.
