contracting?

I don't really remember how they feel especially with being induced but I've been walking the past hour around the grocery store and my tummy keeps getting extremely hard and it almost takes my breath away. No crampy feeling but it hurts in my lower back and it isn't letting up. Just BH?

i have no experience with what a contraction or braxton hicks feels like (ive never had the braxton hicks before and this is my first pregnancy), but my mom has told me contractions do feel like your stomach hardening up like that --i don't want to tell you yes or no, or even what to do - but i hope all is well, make sure to update (if you can!)

Could be real contractions. I didn't feel that early contractions hurt at all, but they were definitely more noticeable than BH. I had a lot of back pain with mine due to DS facing out instead of in. Hope they putter out with your feet up and drinking some water!

Sounds like contractions to me. Thats how I feel with some of the obes I have been having. Time them whrn you have them. My doc told me if i have more than 6 in an hr (closer than 10 min apart) for over an hr, and they werent stopping with laying down and drinking water, to go in. Hang in there. He will be here before you know it Smile

sounds like some form of contractions to me. If they don't let up let your Doc know and go in. Good luck and KUP.

Youre only 2 days away from being 37 weeks. I doubt they would do anything to stop your labor at this point. So if the contractions arent "this is it" contractions yet, they probably arent worth going in for any way. The more prep work your body does now the better. Its gotta start some where Wink

Totally agree...my docs told me they wouldn't stop labor after 34 weeks, so I figure whatever I can get started now is less that has to happen with the time comes, right?? My contractions have definitely picked up, but aren't regular enough once I lay down to rest and drink my water to send me into L&D. But at night, I definitely am having more painful contractions now, ouchie! Baby is getting ready and practicing lots...and I usually get a doozy of a contraction right when I stand up (from either sitting or laying down), it never fails, so I'm getting used to that now, too.

Hope you can get some relief this week!! We're almost there!!

Wow, it's hard to believe we're at the point where our doctors wouldn't stop labor! It's getting so close Smile

My SO wants me to go into l&d but they stop when I'm laying down so i know they'll just send me home. He's hoping they will keep me and decide its time.

Oh and on a side note/rant. I've been taking this cough med with codeine since Friday and not only does it not help at all I actually feel and am coughing worse. It was a huge bottle too and its almost gone. I'm just at a loss at what to do. Just wait around till friday or go back to the hospital?

Well ended up at the hospital again. They gave me a new script to pick up in the morning. But as i was leaving the nurse was like make sure you get into your Dr asap your fluid levels are low. Not low enough to keep me apparently. I'm hoping they can squeeze me in tomorrow cause i don't want to wait till Friday or see that midwife again.

How are you feeling today? Did you get your new Rx? I hope your Dr actually does something today to help you! Gees you would think they would let you come in if you were having contractions even if you are about 37 weeks. Like Robin said, did they say why they didn't call your OB when you when to the hospital? Was it because they were focused more on the cough than the baby? I hope it wasn't just plain laziness on their part.

I'm haven't got my new rx yet cause of insurance issued but i did get into my doc today. They did an u/s and said fluid was ok but was concerned with movement and his lungs so she sent me back to the hospital. They monitored the baby and his hb was definitely low but they said it looked ok and they did an u/s and they said he is just fine and sent me on my way...grrr i am so fed up.

What is the fluid level at? Mine was at a 9 last week and the doc said that they just like to see it above 6? With DD i was induced because of low amnio, but i am blanking on what hers really was. I would talk to your doctor about doing nsts and monitoring the flid levels once a week (thats what they did wwith me with DD from 34 weeks till they induced me at 36.5 weeks).

I have no idea. They keep me in the dark and give me the run around. I saw my chart today and I'm a medical assistant so i know what everything on there is and apparently I've had a uti for over a month but they haven't bothered to give me anything and i kept telling them it was hurting when i urinate.
