Cramping?

Last night I was literally up every few hours with horrible uncomfortable/borderline painful menstrual like cramping. I've been having some BH but it's usually not to the point where it wakes me up or keeps me awake and it usually just feels like a sudden "tightening" not a lasting cramping. I even thought I might need to get up an vomit from it a few times (but I didn't). I know they're not stomach cramps because they feel exactly like menstrual cramps in my lower abdomen and back. I don't remember contractions feeling like that so I'm not sure if they're BH or what....

Is anyone else having this or mom's who have had their babies did you experience this? I'm wondering if the 5 year gap is clouding my memory and this is what BH should feel like?

Those were most likely contractions. My early ones with DS1 felt just like menstrual cramps and I had no idea that's what was going on. Sure enough, my water broke early that morning and I had him later that morning.

My initial contractions with DS were cramps that came and went like a wave. Always there, but worse every 10 minutes or so (still bearable though). Make sure you're doing well with your water intake!

My body has had contractions and then its had cramping... And I'm not really sure what to make of it either. It sounds a lot like yours. If you call the doctor, update us and let us know what they say... Cause I am really curious. My doctor said if I don't feel the tightening its not a contraction so I'm not keeping track of those... And I've given up on keeping track of contractions too.. She said when they become unbearable three to four times an hour, then let L & D know.

I, too, have had some cramping here and there. Mostly at night like you are describing. Very uncomfortable, but nothing has come of it. I have assumed it's my body's way of preparing for labor. And I also think it's worse when I over do it for the day or when I am dehydrated.

I did call my OB and he said it's most likely BH, but if they get stronger to head in (Basically 4-5 mins apart lasting a minute or so). These things have no discernible pattern to them, they're kinda all over the place or constant cramping for a few minutes and then it goes away enough for me to get some relief so I'm thinking BH too. Plus I'm fighting off a cold and I've really been over doing it a lot lately. Beee I guess I need to make sure to get more water and take it easy until I'm over whatever this is.

Plus, I need to try and get my immune system in order. When I was dropping off DS at school today I noticed his eye looked a little pink, so I didn't leave him and instead took him straight to his dr. Sure enough he's got his first case of pink eye AND a double ear infection and now I'm terrified I'm going to catch pink eye. Sad

Are you producing any colostrum? Put it in his eyes. Quick. Best cure for pink eye.

LOL! Really? I am producing already but I'm not sure how I feel about doing that. XD I might resort to doing it to myself if I end up catching it but I don't want to traumatize the poor kid.

You don't have to tell him...
