I have a few friends who are also due in Oct/Nov and they seem to have everything together. One is due 2 weeks before me and she says she is totally ready now. Nothing else left to do! DH and I recently cleaned out our closet and installed an organization system, which left a TON of boxes and just STUFF stacked all over our bedroom. We're having a yard sale this weekend, thankfully. So we were in there last night trying to sort and organize and I got overwhelmed by all that I still have to get ready. 4 boxes of clothes to wash, bottles, BFing equipment, sheets, blankets... Not to mention cleaning out one side of DD's closet to make room for all of baby's things in there. DH is such a pack rat and won't get rid of hardly anything. We seriously have no room for his junk. He gets mad at me for asking him to throw out stuff like a set of XBOX drums. We don't have an XBOX anymore. It broke like 3 years ago! Even if we had one, he would have absolutely no time to play it. They are so big and bulky...anyway, that is just one example. I see I'm starting to vent here, lol. We still have a bedding set to buy, a new crib mattress, a toddler bed for DS2 so baby can have the crib, a booster seat for DS2 so baby can have the high chair, etc, etc, etc. I have next to no energy lately and DH is working overtime, plus swamped with work from his small business. I'm so overwhelmed right now. Can anyone relate?
YES! lol. My to do list is endless to the point that I deleted it off my phone and just made a small list of things I want to accomplish in the next week.
We just moved DS out of the nursery this weekend, so I'm just now starting to figure out nursery stuff. I did get DH to do a lot of stuff this weekend (like getting baby stuff out of the garage boxes and reorganizing the garage better), but now the nursery is a wreck. Washing stuff is sooooooo far off. I'm still sorting through boxes of DS's baby stuff! I have nothing organized in our bedroom yet - we will cosleep full time first. I still need to do something with DS's closet because it's over half full of other crap not related to him. I can't even get to his fall clothes! Oh, and cloth diapers. Oy. I need to figure out a solution to fit all of Zoe's newborn fluff in there along with all of DS's fluff and figure out some way of keeping Zoe fluff upstairs for night time changes. Fluff must be organized and I just don't know how to do that yet!
And don't get me started on DH's stuff. That's why our bedroom is such a mess. It's somehow become his dumping ground!
Ugh... This has been a no-energy pregnancy for me. I have no idea why, but I just haven't had a lick of energy the last 7 months and practically NOTHING has gotten done.
I did order newborn cloth diapers, though I don't think I've washed them yet. I have organized newborn clothes. But I"m barely keeping up with the basic things we need to run the household, how am I supposed to get anything done off of my to-do list??

Relate to a mess?? big time. Theres so much I want to get done stilll including the boys closet so we can get the choking hazards up and DH has to install a second shelf in at least our closet and the littles closet so we can get those organized so I feel like stuff won't fall on top of me every time.
And thats just the tip of the iceberg. Thinking of hiring a house keeper just once in November to really get things good and clean since I won't be able to do anything for a few weeks.
I do the same as Jackie and just have a small list for each week. I'm not worried about organizing the kids room around yet, because the baby will be in our room for at least the first six months. I just have to stock up on burp rags, new bottles, packing my bag and the diaper bag and getting a diaper station set up downstairs as well as upstairs. So not too much.
Now I just have to keep up with the day to day cleaning.
Me, me! I totally relate! I have such a long list that keeps growing. I'm going to break it down like you all suggested into smaller, weekly lists. Otherwise, I think of EVERYTHING that needs to be done all at the same time and I get nothing checked off (like I think about test driving bigger cars and when can we do that rather than the things that I CAN check off today)! I'm not moving DS2 out of his room or crib just yet (he's just not ready), and that definitely is going to be challenging in terms of storage for baby clothes, diapers, etc. I need to figure out a way to be organized for baby so I don't always have to go into DS2's room to get everything. The next 2 weeks we have a LOT of social stuff on the calendar (our anniversary! friends' annual oyster roast! concert! friend's wedding! - all fun stuff!) but that takes me to 37 weeks and I don't have another free weekend till I'm at 38 weeks...will I get it all done??
I'm sure we'll be ok, even if the list seems insurmountable sometimes when energy is flagging... I'm thinking productive thoughts for us all...!

I'm ready, but I didn't move recently, and had a week without my older kiddos to get the rest of my to do list done for baby. I still need to put together info for my husband and mother in law so they know what goes on around here during the day, but I am much less motivated to do that! Not long now!

We have so much to do, it's scary!!
DH has been out of town for the last 8 weeks, and I am doing my best to get ready, but I really need his help! #1 on the list is finish the crib and get it set up, this one is really stressing me out! Even though we don't need the crib until baby is a few months old, our crib has 6 drawers, so it also serves as his dresser! And I NEED a place to put clothes and blankets! The crib was built by my dad for me when I was a baby, so it's been through me + my 4 siblings, and all 4 of our kids. I really wanted to give it a fresh coat of paint too.
The only other thing I'm worried about it clothes. Since we use cloth diapers I am more picky about clothes. I don't like snap crotch onsies, so I bought a bunch of white baby shirts online and I have been dying them fun colors. I'm being really careful and using real fiber reactive dye...not the RIT stuff at walmart so nothing should run or fade. It's been so fun!! I still want to dye a handful more, and make a few more soft knit outfits for him to wear.

You guys made me feel so much better!! I'm sorry y'all are all stressed out too though. We bought bedding last night and I spent the better part of yesterday and today washing clothes and blankets. I know I'll feel tons better after our yard sale on Saturday too. Piles of junk will be removed from our bedroom floor! I really can't wait, lol. Plus a little extra pocket money. It's hard to believe I can now say, "Baby is due next month!"
I hope you all find some time and stress relief as things slowly come together!
