Feels like a silly question

We're thinking of taking the kids to Great Wolf Lodge this summer (indoor water park). I know you shouldn't ride roller coasters when you're pregnant, but what about water slides? I'm assuming the big fast ones are not such a good idea, but maybe the inner tube kind that aren't too rough?

The date we're talking about is before my next OB appt or I would just ask her. I feel kind of silly putting in a call about water slides. lol

Don't feel silly. It's a legitimate question. I personally would avoid most of the water slides just to be on the safe side. I wouldn't worry so much about the actual slide as I would the impact of hitting the water. The slower "kiddie" type ones probably wouldn't be bad though. We went to a park like that when I was pregnant with DS5 and I stuck to the small kiddie stuff. Just call your doc. I don;t think it;s a silly question at all.

We actually live less than an hour from there Smile We went to the wilderness last year. From what my doc says, and the signs on the bigger slides, most of them are a no go for pregos. I believe great wolf has a lazy river, general splash area, and wave pool that you could do Smile

We went to great wolf last month, and I WANTED to go on the water slide it just didnt feel safe for me, even though the tubes can be harmless I'm sure. I was just too worried. But I think if you're NOT worried then it shouldnt be a big deal. I'd just hate to like flip over or IDK, I'd blame myself probably if anything went wrong.

So I spend time in the wave pool and kiddie pools and stuff with the kiddos while Kev n his Brother went down the slides.. I figure we'll go back when the babies born and Kev can have baby duty hah

:lurk: I remember reading not to do this because of the force of water into your cervix, etc. this might be an old (new) wive's tale.

Oh, I didn't even think of that....

Maybe I will be hanging out in the kiddie and wave pools! That's more my style lately anyway. I'll save the slides for when I'm not feeling so fat and awkward, lol.

Thanks for your replies, ladies!!

I would check with your doctor but personally, I would not ride them.

On a side note, I am in the UK and have been watching Undercover Boss USA and they did Great Wolf Lodge just last week! It looks like such a fun place to go.
