Does anyone else feel like their heart races at times and you get a pounding headache? I've gotten this a few times and DH said "sounds like b/p is up", but my b/p is very low every time i go to the doctor, the last time i was there it was 109/70 .... can this just be a natural part of pregnancy?
granted, i ate a bad dinner tonight - i shouldn't have ordered take out, i know it's loaded with salt
Headaches are super common during pregnancy, so if your bp is usually low I wouldn't worry about that.
The heart racing is called arrhythmia, I think? Now I'm not a doctor, but from what I'm reading online it's not too uncommon to get those during pregnancy. I actually get them on occasion normally, and my heart has always checked out fine.
This is from a study out of the UK:
If it worries you, and especially if it keeps up, I would mention it to your doctor. But it's probably not anything to worry about. The majority of arrhythmias that occur during pregnancy are benign, and simply troublesome; hence, advice about appropriate actions during symptomatic episodes, together with reassurance, is usually all that is required.
Palpitations are a very common symptom in pregnancy. As cardiac arrhythmias can be identified on Holter recordings in up to 60% of normal people under the age of 40 years, it is not surprising that the antenatal clinic encounters its fair share of palpitations.3 In pregnancy, heart rate (HR) increases by 25%; thus sinus tachycardia, particularly in the third trimester, is not uncommon. Ectopic beats and non‐sustained arrhythmia are encountered in more than 50% of pregnant women investigated for palpitations while sustained tachycardias are less common at around 2–3/1000.

wow, that's interesting! thanks for that information. i did get a palpitation last night too... i finally felt better after about an hour, and i slept good.
i told my DH that i think it was from the take out and he said "do you think maybe it was anxiety over eating take out?", he could be right about that too - i am way too hard on myself about weight and diet normally - so you know how that goes.
thanks everyone for the reassurance and helping me to relax <3 you ladies are wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!
