I give up!

So i have now seen 2 more mice since the landlord came over last week! I saw one in the living room when we got home today and one downstairs while I was doing laundry. He put out some of this green stuff that supposedly kills the mice and then gave us some things to plug into the walls to drive them away! Yea def arent working! I also found an old stump area outside the house that is full of freaking mice! I also found a mouse house out by the garage too! I am just fed up right now! It seems like we just got totally screwed when we got this place!! I specifically asked the landlord about mice and he told me no one ever said anything before... I am having a hard time believing that! I dont even want to be in this house anymore. I was in love with it when we found it and thought it would be perfect for us until we decide to buy and now I am hating it!! This really sucks! Its the last thing I thought I would be worrying about right now!

When we moved into our new house (also a rental) there was a seriously bad mouse problem going on. I told my landlord about it and they just said to throw decon under the house through this door on the side that opens up to the crawl area. Yeah that didn't work at all. I don't understand how landlords can allow their tenants to live in conditions that they themselves would probably not even be caught dead in. Our landlord also denied that the previous renters ever complained about mice.

I know exactly how your feeling though, when I first saw our mice I freaked out completely. I felt like we lived in the dirtiest house ever when before I loved it's charm (built in the 1950's). I hope you get the mouse problem under control, we did but it took a week or two. Some things that worked for us were sealing up every hole I found with steel wool and then putting that expanding foam in the hole (called "Great Stuff" - make sure to get the window/door kind even when sealing a hole in the wall so that it doesn't crack the wall). After we filled all the holes and some holes under our cabinets which they were getting in from we never saw a mouse again. I was so proud of myself. XD Good luck!

One of the holes looks like it would be underground by where the stump is. I wouldnt even know where to start looking in the basement! Im still waiting for him to call me back today!!

ugg. That has to be frustrating. Hopefully he will do something. Other wise, I'm sure you would have grounds for breaking your lease. I really hope it doesnt come to that since besides the mice it sounds like you really like the place
