Marginal (Placenta) Previa

Just heard from the Dr today that I have Marginal Previa. Apparently the placenta is right by my cervix. The Dr told me not to worry too much. She just put me on pelvic rest and I will have another U/S in 4-6 weeks to check to see if the placenta has moved. Otherwise she said the baby looks great! Which is a relief Smile

I'm trying not to worry but I am because it could jeopardize the med-free waterbirth I am planning. *fingers crossed* it moves away from my cervix.

Has anyone else dealt with this or even Partial or Complete Placenta Previa?

I have complete Placenta previa and I had it also with my DS. With DS it moved to low lying by 7 months along and in the end Ihad a csection only because my body just can't have babies vaginally. But we tried and I labored for over 30 hours and finally dialated. I'm only saying this because it moved to low lying and they did have me attempt vaginal. With DD didn't have any concerns. This time around it's complete again and because of the scar tissue from my 2 prev. c sections my doc is not anticipating it moving much at all or if at all. But I'm a repeat c section. They really didn't go oer much precautions with me as I'm a repeat c sec but I did have to give up my running and not over do it. Glad your baby is doing well! I get another u/s soon too!

I havent had to deal with that myself, but if your doctor isnt too too concerned, then I wouldnt worry Smile From what I understand is that if there isnt too many other complicating factors, that most of the time it ends up being that it moves up and away from your cervix as your uterus grows. You still have plenty of time Smile

I was diagnosed with that exact thing (though they didn't put me on pelvic rest... hmm...) at my last appointment. I'm a bit nervous it could interfere with my med-free waterbirth, too! Wink But there are real risks to placenta previa, and the odds are that it will clear up by the next ultrasound, so I'm trying not to think about it too much.

Boo. Sad Thankfully chances are higher that it'll move up and away rather than cause any issues.

I had it with my last pregnancy. It moved just fine. Fingers crossed!

It is so reassuring to hear from others who have had this and that the placenta did move!
