Nice things...

Hey. I thought it would be good to start a thread where we could share the nice things our Husbands, Significant others, etc. did for us when they found out that we were pregnant :jarofhearts:

I found out I was pregnant in the morning. That day my DH came home early from work so that I could get to the dentist. While I was at the dentist him and the LOs went shopping. He surprised me with these after the kids went to bed.

DS#2 insisted on the Giraffe, I guess Smile

He's been cooking me dinner (I cannot stand raw meet-frozen is fine, but thawed raw stuff I can't be around) and last night when I was getting sick (and subsequently clogged the toilet-super puke, lol!), he held my hair back and rubbed my back.

Mine has been watching our toddler in the mornings so I can sleep in past 7am. It's been great getting another hour or two of sleep!

(We just moved last week and DH's training hasn't started up yet, so he's home. lol)

My DH is so sweet it breaks my heart. He's made dinner pretty much every night because I haven't been able to handle it. Either I'm exhausted or it grosses me out or I'm too dizzy, etc, etc. He works full time and is a full time student and he's still doing this for me. He's also given me about a million back rubs in the past few weeks. When he gets up in the morning if I'm moaning he gives me some gel phenergan and makes sure I have crackers. And today I was feeling huge and fat because my clothes decided to stop fitting yesterday, and he took me to one of my favorite stores where I buy good quality clothes for work and bought me a new dress and sweater (that he picked out). He also bought me a shirt that he picked out. I feel so much less disgusting having pretty clothes that fit that don't show my belly right now. I also have to post that my mom bought me some new pants cause I was at her house yesterday and fell asleep on the couch and I had to unbutton and unzip my pants to breathe. They fit the day before that. She felt sad so she bought me some better pants and promised to break out the sewing kit to make me some more comfortable things. I think she's pampering me since we're all superstitious(mostly me) and feel it's too soon to buy baby things. But man between the two of them I feel SO much better. Smile

So far he has just been extra helpful, letting me rest etc. He has also taken over most of the poop diapers from my son so I don't get sick. Wink

My husband is super sweet. He won't let me do anything. As soon as he comes home from work he takes DD out to play so I can get a break. He does all the dishes now, he's constantly telling me to go lie down and rest, he makes breakfast for me in bed on the weekends, etc. He's so sweet. Smile

Part of it is because I've had some rough pregnancies (losses) before this, and part of it is because he is Korean and there's this whole cultural aspect to how Koreans treat pregnant women (you can't do anything strenuous, have to eat perfect food, must always think of lovely thoughts, etc) . But he's also just a wonderful person, and I really do get treated like royalty when I'm pregnant. :love1:

I had to find this and post in it again because my husband is being so sweet. He has been keeping everything clean and making dinner every night. If he knows I'm getting hungry or it's been a while since I've eaten he brings me a snack. He's really put up with making what I want to eat too which changes all the time. Last night I was dying for some grilled chicken and roast potatoes but it was raining so we couldn't cook out. So he put the grill stuff on it and baked it and it was pretty much the same. He's so sweet. He's kept everything so clean and has put up with my hormones so great. I was SUPER hormonal yesterday and every time I got upset he just came over and hugged me and gave me a kiss because he knows I can't help it. Smile DH's are really great sometimes.

That's wonderful Leah!

DH actually cooked dinner tonight. In our house this is a miracle. He's usually not home early enough to do this and well, considering I write a blog about cooking I usually do the cooking anyways. Wink DH said he really appreciate my blog b/c he didn't have to ask me a single question about dinner. He knew what meal to cook and where to find the recipe! I wasn't really into eating much of anything, but it was nice having him step up since I know him and DS still needed to eat.

I'm thinking next menu will involve lots of crock pot meals. Blum 3

I tear up thinking about how wonderful he is to be so understanding all the time. Lol. Hormones are suddenly kicking my butt this week. Grr....I am not a nice person when they're bad like this. I hate it! Oh well at least it comes and goes and isn't constant.

Poor DH is passed out in bed right now and I'm wired for some reason. Today he went to work, ran errands on his lunch break to get the cats some flea medicine because I found one on one cat and freaked out....then he went back to work, went to his music lesson, came home and cut the grass, and helped clean up the kitchen and do the dishes. No wonder he's exhausted. Oh and last night he said he fought zombies in his sleep all night so I guess he really is worn out. Pretty bad that he's more tired than I am poor thing. He never complains though. I love my DH. Smile

That's awesome about the cooking blog. I've just started cooking a lot myself in the past year or two and I love the crock pot. It's so easy when I just don't want to deal with it. We've come up with a lot of healthy meals to do that way too and then we have lots of leftovers which is great when DH has class until 9 and we just don't have time to deal with anything else. It keeps us from eating out too much.
