Hurricanes are no fun! One of the main reasons we left FL!

lol.
My husband was complaining Friday night about this hurricane affecting him and we're waaaaay out of the way in NC! Apparently base has decided that this storm means that they need to go over hurricane procedures yet again for the 20th time this summer. They want to get the wives together again about this, but I told DH there's no way I'm showing up. I know my role. If one comes, I'm completely on my own and DH will be working the whole time (if not in another state babysitting planes). Blum 3 I don't need another lecture to tell me not to expect my husband to help me evacuate if it comes to that.

We were barely supposed to get hit but I went out this evening and pretty much every street looked like this:

My car got flooded and now it unlocks and locks automatically, also all the controls for the radio and cruise control on my steering wheel no longer work.

Oh my! I have a friend who actually lives in your area and she was posting pictures yesterday of her "lakes" aka street, backyard, etc. I think people forget that the big issue with any tropical storm/hurricane is all the rain which goes well beyond the center!

I am with Amber. I am glad that I live in WI... I will take a blizzard over that any day Sad Hopefully you all dry out soon.

Speaking of messing up the cars though... There was a big storm when I was living in Chicago and I decided to drive through a HUGE area of standing water under one of the vidocts. Needless to say the brand new car I had purchased 2 weeks beforehand completely died! I had to pay to get a brand new engine as I so nicely got water in the air intake and pistons. I def dont drive through water anymore!!

So I am in Charleston, SC and it's flooded now! Downtown Charleston always floods, but we didn't even see this coming this time! Apparently, the hurricane is pushing lots and lots of rain our way...
