Tonight after dinner I noticed I was bleeding. It was a significant amount of blood - not just spotting - though it was kind of brownish red. DH, DD, and I rushedto the urgent care place, only to find out that they won't treat me there. They tell me to go to the ER. So there we went. On the way there I tell DH that I'm not in pain like I was with the miscarriages, and that the color of the blood is 'good' - it looked kind of old - and those two things together seemed to indicate a good outcome. I was still close to tears.
At the ER it was a bunch of waiting around doing nothing, and you know that went over well with the 2-year-old. She pressed the nurse call button twice, much to my embarrassment, and was on the verge of a tantrum several times. But overall she did very well.
Finally they took me back for the ultrasound. I wasn't expecting to see much, of course, because it's so early, but I was hoping for at least something to let us know I wasn't miscarrying. I got more than that... we saw a heartbeat. It was 111 or 114 (he measured it twice), which is considered good for this age. It makes us feel better, though of course we lost our second baby after seeing a hb at a similar gestational age with a similar hb.
Anyway, the doctor said the bleeding was from a subchorionic hematoma, which I sort of figured. I had one with Pearl, but it never bled. I'm going to call my MW tomorrow and see what she wants me to do, but for now I'm just going to take it easy and thank God that today ended so much happier than it could have.

Eeek! That sounds scary! And what is up with doctors? Geez they just have to make you wait and wait and wait and most of the time it's for no good reason. Grrr. Glad you got your answers though and hopefully it'll resolve soon and you won't have to worry about anymore bleeding. Sending thoughts and prayers your way that your little bean continues to do great!
I'm so glad that's all that it was. I had that with one of my pregnancies and you can see the end result in the curly haired daughter in my siggy. My doc put me on pelvic rest for a few weeks, but that's it and it went away on its own. Good luck to you! I know how scary bleeding can be in pregnancy.
