prayers needed for my sisters baby boy

She was 37 weeks so she was full term but she had been having high blood pressure so they did an emergency c section yesterday. The baby was quite the big boy for being 37 weeks. 8lbs 10oz and 21 1/2" long. Well his lungs just weren't ready and they rushed him to the nicu but apparently he needed extra tlc so they rushed him to the closest children's hospital. Right now he has a breathing tube and feeding tube and its just wait and see from here.

:lurk: I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's emergency c/s and her son's respiratory issues. This hits home as we just did an amnio Friday to check lung maturity and it was immature. I hope he makes a quick recovery and is out of the NICU soon. Keeping them in my t&p.

I really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. We got another update: We are at University of Michigan. When we arrived Little Man was not stable at all. They tried stabilizing him but was not successful. So they did a surgical procedure to put him on a ECMO machine. Which is a machine that is by passing his lungs. So Little guy is not breathing. A machine is doing that for him. Since he has been here we have made tremendous progress. All we can do is let this machine work its magic while Jeremy heels. Lets keep up the prayers and lets not think he is clear because he isn't. But my baby boy is a very strong little man and Mommy and Daddy are here EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!

Thanks a million for all of the support. We are very grateful for the prayers and love we have received. Jeremy is also a very special baby that the director of pediatric surgeon came down to assist in his surgery.

I love you Jeremy Paul Chapman II....

I didn't go into to much detail with my daughter as I didn't want to worry her because even at 5 she worries so much about her friends and family when they are sick. All she knows is that she has a new cousin and he is a little sick right now. I also didn't want to show her pictures cause that stuff makes her upset but when I told her all this she asked if we could make him a card to help him get better so I made one and took a pic and sent it to my sis

I made a caringbridge site for him so any messages on there for him are very comforting for my sister...http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jeremychapman2
