Default Pregnancy things (products) that make you wonder...

    "what were they thinking?"

    ************************************************** ******

Any creams claiming that they prevent stretch marks. Really??? I have found that no matter what I tried, I still got them. What many women dont realize is that you may be genetically predisposed to get them... as well as so many other factors. If you are going to get them, then there isnt a whole lot you can do about it. Of course, watching weight gain helps, staying as active as you healthily can, and so on helps... but lotions, etc, are not going to save you

yea my sister and i have been talking about this - as she just had her baby 4 1/2 months ago. she got a few, but nothing crazy, she showed me her stomach and i didn't even see any... when it comes down to it, if i get them - i get them... =/ i've been so obsessed wtih my body all my life and i just want relax for once (plus the smell of the palmer's coco butter makes me sick now!!!), my Grandmother says to me "so how is life going to change if you have a stretch mark on your stomach, whow cares?!", LOL - she put it into perspective HAHA...

Ditto to the "keep the stretch marks away" claims! I enjoy keeping lotion on my belly because it itches otherwise due to the stretching, but I still got them with Aiden despite regular use of such products. Bio Oil after birth at least helped them look better really fast.
Preggo Drops/Pops. It's just regular hard candy, but put the word "pregnant" on the product and they seem to justify charging 2-3 times the cost.

lol I would have to agree, I bought bio-oil when i was pregnant with DD, then received another bottle in a gift basket when she was born, I never used the second bottle. I currently use it as oil for the doppler, heh, at least I found a use for it in the end!

Bio Oil was fantastic for me AFTER the baby. My stretch marks and c/s scar looked fantastic after 6 weeks of use. You can barely see my c/s scar now. But I don't think it's good for preventing!

Okay, I'll say it... belly casts. I know tons of women love them. My doula decorates her home with them. :P But as for me, I just don't see the point. What's more, I just don't think I would enjoy plastering my body with the stuff. Eew.

And I agree that perfectly normal products with 'baby' or 'pregnancy' on them cost about 3x as much. Just buy the regular stuff and be happy.
