Rings and Swelling?

Has anyone had to take off rings yet? I swelled like this with DS1, but was able to wear my rings throughout and even to delivery with DS2. Starting to think I might should take them off, but wish I didn't have to!! Anyone else?? Do you wear another ring or go ring-less if you take them off?

My ring was off about a month ago. I had gained a little weight back (after losing and getting my rings resized) prior to getting pregnant and then added some swelling finally did me in.

I took off the ring that was on my right hand and could barely get it off.
My wedding ring is getting fixed right now and wont be back for two weeks (A diamond fell out) so hopefully that will still fit- it was really loose when I first got it and figured I'd wait to size it until after baby incase I swelled up during pregnancy so hopefully it fits perfectly now. hahah

I was able to wear my rings the whole time with DS, but I didn't really have any swelling issues unless on my feet for a long time. They did get tighter, but not bad at all. I got an anniversary band last year that's actually too big that I've decided to put off resizing till after baby is here in case of swelling. Wink

Mine are off. I think the extreme heat here has made the swelling worse. I have a plain gold band that I wear during pregnancy.

I have really only noticed swelling in my hands if I wear my ring to sleep! Then it always swells and gets hard to get on and off! I try to remember to take it off more at night now a days!

I keep expecting my rings not to fit, but they always have. Even at 39 weeks with DD in 90F weather, with very high (for me) blood pressure. My rings are always loose in the winter and tight-ish in the summer, so as they are currently fitting me with just fine I think they might last all pregnancy this time, too.

Now my back and hips are another story. Lots more pain there than I remember from last time. I think it's probably about time for a visit to the chiro. Blum 3

With DS1 my hands swelled really bad at the end (I was due in June) and had a really hard time getting them off. With DS2 and DD it never was an issue. This time, I havent really noticed any difference, except that I have started taking them off in my sleep some nights... not sure why that is, but I do remember doing that with DS1...

With DS 1 I had to take off my rings somewhere around 5 or 6 months, granted I gained way too much weight waaay too fast and I'm sure that impacted it. I never was able to get my wedding rings back on and had to have them re sized one size up. This time I haven't had to remove my rings which I'm really happy about, but occasionally I will wake up with my hands a little swollen if I wear my rings to bed. As a precaution I take them off every night just so if my hands do swell I won't have to worry about them being stuck but I haven't had a problem getting them back on in the morning at all.

I haven't had to take them off yet. I did have to take off my engagement ring with DS1, but for some reason I could wear my actual wedding band the entire time. This time I haven' noticed any swelling yet. Crossing my fingers that it won't happen until the VERY end. That is definitely one of my least favorite parts of pregnancy.

Mine are off. They are both engraved and I would hate to have to have them cut off.

With DS and DD my fingers got very swollen at night. So I took my rings off about a month ago. I do get funny looks at the Dr's office and out and about. I look younger than I am and I always end up going to my appointments by myself. I should nag DH to come with me at least once so he can meet the Dr., but going to an appointment is my time alone without kids and I don't want to give it up yet.

i have very sweaty hands all my life - my hands naturally swell up in the summertime and my wedding and engagement rings usually fit perfect w/ my swollen hands in the summer and are rolling all over hte place in the winter haha, well - i'm not taking any chances (especially because the past few days and probably the next few are EXTREMELY HUMID), so i'm not wearing mine right now... given my natural state of swelling, im guessing hte swelling i have right now would have happened, pregnant or not - but who knows it may be worse due to the pregnancy.

With my daughter, I had to cut off my ring, so I already have them off with this one...

I hate the looks people give when they dont see a ring on your finger and they see a big belly! Just because we arent wearing a wedding ring doesnt mean we arent married! Even if we werent married, does it really give them the right to judge?? Ugh gets annoying!
