This morning DD and I went out garage sailing while DS2 was at school (he goes 1/2 days). I ended up finding a really nice car seat for the new baby (The one I had for the boys expired, and the one from DD was borrowed). It turns out that its the same car seat my youngest sister bought last year (different color). They got it for $170 plus an additional $70 for an extra base. I got the carseat and extra base for $50. The lady running the sale said that her friend had bought it last year, but that her son was a BIG baby and was only in it for 4 months or so. I am so excited and feeling like things are getting real. I also am feeling like I want to get things set up and ready. I know its a bit early, just an urge I am having.
I also have found a few Maternity items at garage sales too. Only thing I really need is a couple more maternity shorts....
Anyone else finding good deals on things for your babies, maternity clothes, etc?
also, anyone else feeling the need to get things "ready" for your baby?
I haven't felt any need to get anything ready yet, but then again DS is so young still that I have all of his stuff. I mostly bought gender neutral, so even if this LO is a girl we're set. I did buy a few things from a garage sale when pregnant with DS like books, toys, and his bouncer. If this LO is a girl I'll probably go nuts making stuff for the nursery decor. That's the only stuff that isn't gender neutral - it's all airplanes! Not that I need to be in a rush because this baby won't use it till at least 6 months old.![]()

Awesome that sounds like a great deal!! We sold all of our carseats just a few months ago and I'm really regretting it about now. I had a super nice convertible britax one that was still good until the end of 2013 that I sold for a measly 60$ (I paid over 200$ for it when I bought it new). I'm super iffy about buying used carseats but if it comes down to it and we have no other choice I'll do it.
We have the jumperoo, bouncer, and swing from the fisher price rainforest collection still and I have a graco mini pack and play in green and our old serta changing table pad. They're all pretty much gender neutral so all we need to buy is a crib mattress, a crib (possibly if I don't somehow convert my drop side from 2007 to a stationary one or just use it anyway....), car seat, and maybe a stroller.
Yay for a good deal!! I did the same when I was preggo with DD! I got a whole Eddie Bauer travel system with an extra base for $40! I havent really felt the need to prepare too much yet, although I did score a nice travel swing and high chair from one of my groups on FB. I want to get things very gender specific this time around since this will be our last baby!
I am on the lookout for any good deals-we got rid of everything last summer-we were pretty sure we were done having kiddos. What didn't sell in a garage sale went to a childrens resale store, what they didn't take was donated. Everything-crib, travel system, childrens clothes nb-2t. I'm glad I held onto little things like the bumbo and swing and exersaucer for the daycare but, other than that, we'll be craigslisting and garage sale-ing fools in the coming months. So proud of you on your great finds! It's a great feeling!
Yay for a good deal! I should really garage sale more. I just hate spending a morning out and finding nothing!
I haven't bought anything yet, but we bought a new car seat and a few other things for our last baby in 2010. The only major things we need to buy are a swing, I gave mine away on craigslist last year because it worked intermittently. So I'm on the look out for that, but that's pretty much it!!
I do need to take a look at our cloth diaper stash though. I've been making most of our diapers so we should have enough. But it all depends on if DD2 potty trains. I probably don't have enough diapers to CD two little ones at once!
