So I was just in my kitchen getting a little snack and a freaking mouse ran from behind my garbage to underneath of my sink! I almost threw up all over the floor! This is our first spring in the house we are renting and I was so not prepared to see that!! Looks like I will be stocking up on some mouse traps and rat poison for the basement tomorrow! Anyone have any good ideas on how to get them to stay away? I havent had a mouse problem ever before!
We got a cat lol. If you have any friends with cats, ask them to spread their used kitty litter around the foundation (on the outside) of your house... the smell of cat seems to keep them away. Other than that... dont live in the country lol
ps. We live in the boonies... so, I get what your saying. When we first moved in we had an awsome mouser of a cat... she was in door/outdoor... though in the winter she had an issue with being just in the house... she went to live on a farm. Then, when we didn have a cat, we had the same thing happen that you just did. Now, we have a new kitten (about 4 months old now) and, not a mouse in sight
A year ago we had a mouse problem. Ended up catching 18! We used poison (in blocks) and glue traps and made sure there was no food they could get too. My husband had the job of checking the traps twice a day, eww!

Well the landlord came over today and set some traps and put some poison outside! Get this.... I found a whole colony of mice outside in a stump in the yard!!! So not pleased!! The landlord knows how I feel about it and is going to bring over some of the things you plug in the walls to repel mice as well. We dont really live in the boonies at all so I am not pleased that we have to deal with this! I saw one of the mice eating the poison already, so I am hoping that they all die!!
