sharp pains in cervix

Anyone else get what I can only describe as like an electric shock feeling in their cervix? It's real quick and uncomfortable but I've noticed I'm getting them more often and quite a few times a day.

Happens to me 5+ times a day. Feels like he is trying to punch his way out down there lol

Yes! I have been feeling this - catches me unaware every time and I have to stop in my tracks! They told me at my last appt that baby is head down, too. Sometimes it feels like he's boxing down there, eep!

yes. my doula told me to do a kegel whenever i felt the pain. works like a charm. try it. it makes the sharp pain go away more quickly. i started getting them recently too.

I started feeling what you are describing a couple weeks ago and the feeling seems to be happening more frequently for me too. Especially at night when I am doing chores or making dinner. It's a very strange feeling to say the least! I definitely don't remember it happening in my last pregnancy.

It happens sooner and sooner with each of my pregnancies. I swear I can feel wee dude grinding his head into my cervix, head butting it, or like you described, trying to punch his way through. As they get bigger they put more pressure there... and with each pregnancy you get more stretched out so they sit lower... all adding up to a head in your "general area" and zingers galore. The way I look at it, it just means that once its go time, things should be good and ripened Wink

I'm kinda hoping it means I'm starting to dialate a bit. I get crampy too but only for like a minute a couple of times in a row and horrible back pain. I would love going into labor by 37 weeks. That's only 5 weeks away!

I know for me it means that things are going to start to shorten sooner than latter. Thats what my cervix tends to do... start to shorten, but then not dilate till the end. I wonder if you will be in the same boat as me, a 35 or 36 week baby? Especially if your "little" guy is already so big???

Yeah when I needed an u/s 2 weeks ago because of the groin pain he was measuring 4lbs the tech said and that was 2 weeks ago so maybe he will be here in 4-5 weeks

I hope that till then you are able to rest, relax, and be (somewhat) comfortable. I know I am starting to need to slow down, cut back on what we are doing, and do the same. I really need to make it at least another 7 weeks, if not 9, myself. Heres to hoping that neither of our boys makes too early of an entrance (or exit, what have you)... and that your little guy takes a cue from mine, sees that hes running out of room, and slows down the growing a bit.... and isn't too mean to you Wink

It's hard for me to relax cause when my SO is at work I'm at my moms and she is always like to the dishes and clean the floor for me and why couldn't you put my clothes in the dryer...its ridiculous. She doesn't care that I can barely move around with the pelvic issues and what not.
