Sleep

Is anyone else not sleeping?

I am so tired. I fall asleep very easily at night about 8ish right after I put the kids to bed. But by 3 a.m. I am wide awake ususally for the rest of the morning, or I finally fall back asleep around 5 a.m. and I have to get up at 6 for work.

It's definitely affecting my mood. I am super grumpy and easily annoyed. Yesterday I had the day off and took my kids to the pool and then farmers market. My kids are usually so well behaved, but yesterday they just did not want to listen. I felt horrible all day because I felt like I was constantly repremanding them for something and just super annoyed at anything they did.

Can you make yourself stay up for a bit later in hopes of sleeping later? Sounds like your body might be finishing a sleep cycle then and think that it's good go! My husband's body does that so he has to work hard to make sure he goes to bed at the same time to wake up at the same time so he stays rested and isn't up at 4am naturally.

I slept horribly during the 3rd trimester with DS. I was lucky to get 3 hours total in 24 hours. This time, hypnobabies is helping so much. I listen to one of the tracks and I'm back out within 15 minutes which is super fast for me, especially with a baby who thinks it's time to party at 2am. Wink

I am up 2 to 3 times a night to go to the bathroom, and at other times to switch positions. I feel like I need to nap constantly. I know I am extreamly irritable and testy lately... dont know if its more the hormones or the fact that I am just so tired. I really think my kids are feeding off of it because, like you said, lately they just cant seem to listen, and are crabby. I so can not wait for school to start just to get them back on a normal routine, and to give me a little bit of a break during the day... let alone a good long nap time for the younger 2 Wink

I've tried making myself stay up later, I still wake up at 3 a.m. wide awake. I wonder if this will be the little man's time that he wakes up as well.

I wish I wasn't as annoyed with my kids. I feel really bad.

For me it really depends. Some nights I do, some I don't. If it has been a couple of nights on a row I sometimes take 1/2 a unisom. That helps. I know it will get worse. And it really doesn't matter how I sleep at night. I am still tired during the day and crabby!

I did not sleep AT ALL until about 2 weeks ago... now I sleep for more time than I did, I still wake up in the middle of the night a little but I can get back to sleep without so much annoyance...

I think part of the thing that has helped me is DH came home from work one day with a surprise gift for me: the snoogle. that big pregnancy pillow with the curves on each end, it is AAAAAMMMAZING... at this point I don't know what I'd do without it.

ok, I had a TERRIBLE night last night. I may have gotten a total of 3 hrs of sleep, and all of it really restless. I am in so much pain. My pelvis, back, and my whole left leg were just killing me. Also, I kept having contractions, and it felt like wee dude was grinding his head into my cervix and pubic bone. I finally just got out of bed at 3:30am and came down stairs. I tried drinking water, laying in the recliner, but nothing was helping. DH came down at 4:30 to get ready for work and made me call the ER. I talked with an OB nurse who had me try taking some tylonal. I did, and then took a shower with DH and let the hot water run over my back as he massaged my back. After that I was finally able to get a little bit more sleep before the hooligans got up this morning. I am still having a lot of pain, and some contractions, but really dont want to bother my OB since I see her tomorrow. I also have a growth US, so she can easily check my cervical length then. I may just call and give her a heads up about what all has happened this week. I'm guessing she may also want to monitor me for a bit after the US. Who knows. I know this all kind of comes with the territory of having your 4th baby, and a history of PTC, and its all worth it in the end.

Ugh. I've spent the past few days sick. Not even my hypnobabies tracks are knocking me out at all! I *really* need the sleep to get better, but yet my sick body is only letting me get 3-4 hours in a 24 hour period. Fun times. Blum 3 Hoping that once I kick this virus I'll be able to get a bit more sleep again!!!

Well, I hate to say it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who is lacking sleep. I did actually get some very good sleep the other night, but that was the first time in about 3 weeks that I didn't wake up every 3 hours. I have also been annoyed and easily snappier than usual. I have had my moments where I was short with DS and I've really had to watch that too. I just fussed at one of my coworkers more than I should have and I know I should feel bad but I don't. He painted the door frame to the staff kitchen today, but failed to put up a sign that said wet paint. Of course I backed into the frame and got paint all over my cardigan. Ugh. I just feel cranky, tired, and hormonal. It's hard not being able to sleep. Sad
