Sleepy Saturday

With all of us having pregnancy insomnia, or just trouble sleeping, i thought this was fitting. What are people doing to help get more sleep, or at least comfortable at night?

I have to take a nap everyday. I am always tired. I went to bed at 9:30 last night and got up at 7:00 and I could have gone back to bed for a nap! Thankfully, I haven't had a lot of trouble getting comfortable at night, which is usually not the case while pregnant for me. Maybe it's because I'm so exhausted by the time I go to bed that I fall asleep within minutes!

I've been experimenting around with hypnobabies tracks for the past week and I think I finally found one to knock me out asleep again! I am going to sleep much later than I was (about 12-1am), but I still go to bed at my normal time and read/enjoy quiet time for a bit. Last night I restarted the same hypnobabies track whenever I woke up and fell back asleep fairly quickly again! Hope this keeps working because I'm a mess during the day with less than 3 hours of total sleep. Poor DS!
I've been able to be mostly comfortable at night, but the insomnia just keeps me up anyway!

I have a pregnancy pillow that helps a bit, though not as much as it used to. Now, I am having to take a tylonal PM most nights. It helps with the aches and pains a bit, and sleeping in general. I'm nervous to see what happens to my sleep pattern this week with DH staying up with my sister for his first week of work Sad

My only sleep struggle right now is heartburn/acid reflux. So I am keeping a bottle of Tums on my bed stand and if I'm really having trouble I turn my HypnoBabies tracks back on. That seems to do the trick.

I had my first really rough insomnia night last night. Before, it wasn't TOO hard for me to fall back asleep and it was mostly my other kids keeping me up with bad dreams, colds, teething, sleep schedules getting off with school starting, etc. But last night, I was just awake (still tired, but not able to sleep at all) at 2am. I couldn't get comfortable in bed so I ended up coming out to prop myself up almost sitting on the couch and watched TV till I could doze off. DS1 is sick right now, so he followed me out to the couch and slept there with me till DS2 woke up at 7. Needless to say, after a full weekend of activity, I am beyond tired and physically just not holding up today. Have to take both boys to the doctor this afternoon, then I hope to rest during their naptimes even though I should be working...

34 weeks is starting to kick my butt already!!
