This may have been discussed before, but I wouldn't have paid much attention because I was set with my Moby. Well, I can't find it anywhere! Super annoyed about that. I have a Baby Bjorn too, but you can't use that until baby is bigger with some head control. Anyway, I liked my Moby okay, but it sure was a ton of fabric to hassle with. Looking for other sling recommendations, please.
My favorite for newborns that can be used through toddlerhood are ring slings. Sleeping Baby Productions has basic ones for very reasonable and is known for fantastic quality. I have two of her ring slings and plan to bring one to the hospital with me!
Here are some fantastic videos about using ring slings correctly. Many are with newborns! sakurabloombabysling's channel - YouTube
A two shoulder carrier that can be used with newborns and toddlers too later on are mei tais. Here's a thread on the BWing board about mei tais: All About Mei Tai Carriers
I haven't been keeping up to date with all the mei tai deals recently, but I know this one is still going on and is a great deal for a well respected, well made MT: Clearance :: Clearance new Freehand Mei tai's -
You can make your own stretchy carrier. Just need to buy a piece of jersey cotton and cut it size. No sewing needed if the right fabric is bought since it doesn't unravel at all. But I recommend considering a ring sling or a mei tai first because they can be used much longer than a stretchy wrap, has less fabric to deal with, and honestly you might find them more comfortable than the Bjorn over time.
We do have BWing board here with lots of other great BWing information!
Thanks for the you tube links! I have a ring sling, but have only ever used it for an older baby on my hip. I was given an ergo with a newborn insert, so I am anxious to try that too! I have used a moby in the past, but agree all the fabric is a pain. I have never found the front carries to be that useful, but I'm sure I just need to get used to it. With Ellie not walking yet, it would be nice to wear Owen!

Do you guys know anything about Seven Slings? I got a promo code for a free one, but know nothing about them. Seven
I got the promo code for the Seven Slings a while back and posted it on here, someone said that the sizing is not so great, and also the company has been linked to credit card fraud.
I got a Seven Sling before DS was born. Used it once. Not good. Very uncomfortable for a 9 lb baby. The sizing was off. It's just very thin cotton material. Which is why I recommend a ring sling if a sling is desired - a ring sling can be adjusted so it'll always fit and should be loads more comfortable on your shoulder.
