Stomach Virus

Wanna know how to make the first tri worse? Just get a stomach virus. I'm having flu like symptoms, but I am on the mend already so probably just a regular annoying virus. Spent yesterday afternoon and all evening hugging the toilet. Finally able to keep down water and pedalyte earlier this morning. DH went into work (he's in military training so he doesn't get any time off or sick days). After two hours of trying to be there for DS but completely failing (I found myself laying on the kitchen floor to rest just to get him a sippy cup!), I called DH and told him he better suck up to his commander awfully fast. He's home for now, but has to go back in later. Hope I'm feeling better by then!

Oh no... Do you have any friends that can help you out right now?

Aw that sucks, I hope you feel better soon! Does your base doesn't offer any type of free or discounted childcare with drop in services?

Oh no! That's really awful! Sad I hope you are on the mend soon and that it doesn't spread to the rest of your family! Of all the rotten things to happen to you right now! :bigarmhug:

So sorry you have to go through this-hoping for a quick recovery for you. Perhaps there's a mom's club on base so you can network and possibly have a support system a little closer to home for times like that, I'd bet there are others who have gone through the same thing. Good luck to you!

Feeling a bit better today. Keeping down bland foods. Now if only my toddler didn't have so much energy! Blum 3

My son can't attend any on base care because he isn't up to date on vaccines. Because ya know Hep B is just everywhere in daycares.
There was a wife from DH's training class who told DH she'd take Aiden for a few hours today if I needed it, but no way no how would I trust her with my child. Every time I see her outside with her kids (they live around the corner) I cringe because her first and only form of discipline (even with her toddler) is to spank and yell in their faces. No thanks. I'd rather suffer than put my child in that environment! (We practice attachment parenting.) My husband went in super early at least today, so he should be done before 4pm thankfully.

Have I mentioned before how much I dislike the 1st tri? Lol I keep wondering if my ickiness is the effect of the virus or just more pregnancy fun. Come on 2nd tri - ready to have my energy back!!!

Ugh that is so frustrating-when the offer of help is from an undesirable source. I try really hard not to "bash" others styles of parenting because I think we all in one way or another kind of "wing it" until we figure out what works best for us but, it is so hard to see volatile parenting in action with the screaming and hitting. Totally agree that'd I'd just suck it up too - much better than being worried sick about the alternative.
Glad you're feeling better!
