    Default Stuck in the house...

For the past 2 days it's been over 95 degrees where i live and there's an 'air quality' alert in effect --i'm afraid to go out for my normal walk because of this, and i have no car right now to get to the gym, so i am currently climbing the walls. i was also stuck in monday and tuesday because my mother in law was here, and again, i had no car - and she can't walk that good... so on my 4th day stuck inside, i'm feeling a little down...

the house is clean, we cleaned before mother in law came (she's gone now), i think what bothers me most is being SO sedentary for 4 days in a row... it worries me, like i can feel the weight coming on QUICKER!

(((sigh))) i'll be here, bored, all day lol

Is there any way that you could take DH to work and have the car? I understand what you mean by being stuck in the house. Though, I have 3 rug rats to keep me busy lol.

i probably could have, though he leaves the house at 6:00am and he's already there lol. its a bit of a commute.
i have a car, but he's been doing work on it, so i can't use it- i can't wait for him to be finished with it already.

I'm sorry you are stuck inside. I don't like feeling stuck inside either and going stir crazy. I liked the suggestion of taking DH to work so you can borrow his car. It wouldn't be fun to get up early and do the commute but at least then you would be up and about and have a car to get you to the gym or wherever you felt like going. Or maybe you could take a walk this evening when it's hopefully cooled down a little bit. Hang in there!

Time to get a fire under him to get that car done do you have anyone that lives closer that could come and get you and have a mall date with?

nah everyones at work - well my sister is in walking distance, but not to walk in this heat, and her husband has their car at work too LOL. i normally walk to her house during the week and i consider that my walk for the day, especially since we walk everywhere we need to go together.

an evening walk sounds good! plus dh is taking me to the store tonight to get a birthday gift for my best friends son who just turned 5 yesterday (anyone know what a 5 year old boy might like? Lol)

next week it's going to be in the 70s all week the weather people are saying, thank God! i'll be walking every day!

Ok I can totally help with the 5 year old boy thing because my DS just turned 6 so I've had a 5 year old for a whole year now.
I think most boys would like this kind of stuff.
My DS loves loves loves Legos. The boxes will tell you what age they are made for so that helps.
Anything superhero like Spiderman, Batman, etc.
I think all boys love those Nerf type guns although I have to say those are not my favorite. They are annoying.

I hear you - I work from home, and then when I'm done with work, it's time for dinner and settling down with the kids, so some days, I don't ever leave the house if it's a busy day with work things and I can't get out for a walk (or it's hot like today!). I hate feeling trapped! When I'm restless and can't leave, sometimes I just take a nap. Can't get too many of those these days it seems, and it takes the edge off by giving me SOMEthing to do to pass the time

I agree with Claire on legos - I just bought a 6 year old boy Star Wars legos for his birthday and they were a hit!

yea now all my tv shows are on so this afternoon should go quickly: days of our lives, family feud, wendy williams LOL... then i'll have dishes to wash that i've been neglecting all day - and then DH will be home! YAY!

i would LOVE to work from home! after i resigned from my job i applied to a few jobs around here that i could work until november, but i didn't get hired by any of them and now that i'm showing i doubt anyone would want to hire me....
