It just seems never ending this year. Kellen is now on his 2nd ear infection in 6 weeks. This is his 3rd or 4th (I've lost track as to what kid has been on what and when) since he was born. The doctor said that 2 more and we are on our way to the ENT. DS1 was the same way and ended up with ear tubes at about 9 months old. DD has an appt with the ENT on Tuesday. Kind of hoping that if they do want to do tubes that I can get her in for the same day as DH's vas. Most places like to do kids in the morning, and since DH's procedure isnt till the afternoon, and he already has that whole day off, I'm thinking may as well kill 2 birds with one stone.
Anyone else in the ear infection/antibiotic trend? What do you find that helps?
Yep. My oldest is 1 away from an ENT visit. Piper is on abx for fluid behind her eardrums. DS2 just got a fever two days ago (probably going to take him in tomorrow). And DH just got over one! It is warm here now (60's today and 80's next week) so I think we're passing the same bug around our house. Need to kick it out of here! Sorry yours are feeling badly, Kier!
The ENT was great. DD's hearing was fine but there was some retraction with the ear drum. She wants to give it to the end of April and re test and see if it improves on its own, or not. If it doesnt, well talk tubes. If it does, well re evaluate again in the fall. If she ends up with another ear infection between now and the end of April well go in sooner. I also talked to her about Kellen's ears and DS2's adnoids and nasal issues. She said that they try not to do tubes till the baby is closer to 1 yr. She is having me bring Kellen in for a test so they can start watching it now. She also recommended
Getting DS2 in to have his adnoids rechecked (hes had sinus issues since he was a baby, and had seen an ent a couple times back where we used to live) she thinks that now that hes older there may be more we can do. Im really glad I pushed to get the refferal. Hopefully this is the end of the crud
