We have a family Valentine's tradition. We always order the heart shaped Papa John's pizza for our family. My 8yo has always thought it was the best treat ever. Lol. This year we might need two! Heh heh.
I DID suprise DH with an early Valentine's card from his '3' kids. Sad Unfortunately, you guys know the rest.....

My ex bf used to work @ a pizza place and would make me heart shaped pizzas randomly throughout the year- so everytime kevin sees the commercial for heart shapped pizza he comments on it- so no heart shaped for us. butttt i"m still thinking pizza- the best pizza in town YUM with my two boys.
I'm so over going out and the whole date thing
PLUS I got kevin an uber exciting wonderful gift he's gonna be sOOO thrilled with (concert tickets) so it'll be hard for him to top that!! (wish I could stick a BFP in there as well, dangit!!)

We went ahead and celebrated today. DH has class on Tuesday and I have a doctor's appointment and I have to do my weekly infusion that day so it'll be too busy to celebrate then. We went out to our favorite restaurant which is this cute little old tavern that was the first building ever built in the town we live in. We love the history of it and we can only afford to go there a few times a year. So we went there and had French food...I'm still full feeling and we ate nearly 7 hours ago. Lol.

We went ahead and traded gifts and DH got me flowers and a cupcake/muffin/cake carrier that I've wanted forever only he filled it with cupcakes from our favorite place. Smile He's got the best ideas. I made him a gift basket full of candy and little things he likes. I framed his favorite pic of me so he can put it on his desk at work and he was super happy about that. And then we watching Breaking Dawn cause he bought it for me today...well I watched it...he fell asleep on my shoulder cause it's not really his thing but at least he tried. Lol.

Leah, what a wonderful time with your DH.

Cait- enjoy not heart shaped pizza with your family.

Marie- enjoy your heart shaped pizza.

AFM-

I will be working Vday but driving home that afternoon. I have a card for DH (we agreed no gifts because our anniversary was pricey). I also have 4 heart shaped boxes that i plan on filling with goodies for each of the boys and DH. I will also make the boys homemade valentines for them to open first thing in the morning. That night, we will have a family dinner.

Leah - sounds like a great way to spend your Valentine's weekend together Smile

Cait - Enjoy your pizza dinner! If I had to pick one of my favorite dinner ideas, it would be pizza for sure, yum!

Marie - Sounds like fun! Enjoy your family day Smile

Kimberly - Filling heart shaped boxes with goodies sounds like a great Valentine's day gift for your family Smile

AFM - DH and I celebrated yesterday, we exchanged cards and agreed no gifts as well....however DH went ahead and got me chocolates, candies, and flowers anyways...plus the new Breaking Dawn movie (LOVE it!!!) That stinker...Looks like I am going to have to come up with a few surprises myself and spring them on him when he least expects it! Biggrin

All your talk of pizza is making me hungry!

I don't hold my breath from anything from DH normally, but a few days ago he asked what I was doing on Tuesday. He didn't say Valentine's Day, he said Tuesday, so it seems he may be up to something.

I have to work during the day, but since I am a Kindergarten teacher there will be plenty of celebrating.

Well, we'll be trying to make a baby!

I have my egg retrieval on Tuesday. Not exactly romantic! But I'm a little bit excited and ready to go!

I'll be under anesthesia for it, so I'm making dinner tonight and have a few little gifts for my hubby and the kids to give them on Tuesday morning. Then, hopefully I'll be the recipient of some TLC as I lay on the couch most of the day. Smile

Kara- GL on Tuesday! Hopefully your late Valentine's Day present will be a BFP!

Cute idea everyone has with the heart shaped pizza!

DH and I also celebrated last night. Our weeknights are crazy and, since I have to get up for work at 5:00am, I didn't really want to go out on Tuesday night. So I cooked one of our favorite meals (Chicken and Biscuits) last night and we just relaxed, drank some wine (my first glass of alcohol in a while and, yikes, I'm a lightweight) and had great conversation about things coming up. We didn't do presents either- we're doing a cruise for our anniversary in the spring so, even though its already paid for, we're trying to be mindful with our finances.

Michelle- what a sweet DH.

Christine- you will have to let us know what your DH comes up with.

Kara- I hope the egg retrieval goes fantastic!!!!

Meg- what a nice night with your DH.

I think it is so fun to hear what everyone is doing.

I had a glass for wine for the first time in FOREVER at our V-day dinner and I'm a serious lightweight too! Lol. I'd hardly had anything to eat all day so after just a few sips I realized I should probably eat first. I wasn't even able to finish my glass. How pathetic is that? Lol.

Good luck, Kara!

DH and I are going out right after work (to beat the crowd... lol) and my best friend is going on her "valentine date" with DS (DD will tag along, too.) My bestie is single right now, and is the kids' godmother. DS just loves her and likes spending valentine's with her. He made me take him shopping and buy her valentine's gifts. So cute.

Good luck Kara
Hope everyone makes a lot of loving babies tonight!
Elizabeth- that is SOOOO cute.. I wish I had family/friend that was really close to my son. My BFF is/was the closest to him- but she had her own daughter after he was born, and now has another, so shes kind of "busy". so I feel like I'm the one doting to her because I just have one "easier" kid now. Maybe if I can have another baby she'll be back in my service :):):)

Im trying to make chocolate covered strawberries, debating if i should add parafin wax like I do when I make chocoaltes @ xmas or just make it w/o... hnmmm... decisions.....

Elizabeth, that is the cutest thing! What a darling DS you have. And a great friend too. As much as I love my friends, they could never handle my wild sons. I WISH they could.

Cait, good luck with the decision. I'm with Kim, and have no clue what you should do. Mmmmm chocolate strawberries! Sounds good no matter what you do.

Cait - Hmmm I am not really sure what paraffin wax is? When I have made chocolate strawberries in the past I have never used it, but which ever way you go I am sure they will taste great! Biggrin
