Weekend Plans? :)

In the US Labor Day is Monday so many have a three day weekend. Any plans for the long weekend?

I'm excited because I think I'm feeling just well enough (been sick since last Friday!) to go ahead with our plans to go camping! One last "vacation" for our family of 3. We're going 2 hours from here where we can camp and only be like a mile from the beach. So far the weather looks like it's going to cooperate well for us. Monday morning before heading back I'm going to a local rally for birth (The National Rally for Change - Improving Birth) near there - super excited about that too. DH isn't excited, but he did admit at least this one is important (he's still a bit confused about The Great Cloth Diaper Change I drug him to last April lol). Just found out a couple of days ago that a miracle occurred and my husband definitely has Friday off too (HUGE deal because he can't take any leave - aka vacation - due to training). Wish we knew sooner, but that's okay. I'll just put him to work loading everything up tomorrow so I can rest up more. Wink

My husband is taking the older kids to his parents for the week, so it's nursery week! I'll be cleaning out my sons room, putting up the second crib and decorating the nursery, and doing some other projects, talk about nesting heaven!

TOMORRROW, Friday, I am going to see JASON MRAZ! WOO HOO!!!
DH is painting baby's room on Saturday, so maybe i'll see what my mom is doing and spend the day with her so i can be out of his hair lol.. and then I think a friend of mine is having a BBQ on Monday so it's a laid back weekend. Every weekend in September is totally booked, here we go! Smile so exciting!

Camping sounds fun! I love camping. I haven't been since early Spring, but it's something DH & I both really enjoy too.

And Risstopher- I hope you have fun at the concert!

We are planning to paint the baby's room too this weekend! Right now the nursery is really DH's office, so we will have lots of rearranging to do. I am still not sure what the heck we are going to do with his desk. I told him we may as well keep it in the nursery for now since baby won't be sleeping in there at first anyway. I plan to have the baby in our room for awhile. We don't have any major plans for Labor Day. I think we are planning to cook out with a couple of friends and let our kids play.

Lots of nursery stuff going on this weekend apparently! Totally jealous since I don't even know if we'll be living here after December yet. Blum 3

I have been tempted to paint, but I am not going too. The room is lavender with lime green curtains, so I am going to leave it and add more lime green accents to make it a little more boy friendly. I found some cute DIY art ideas on pinterest and I need to add storage. Both babies will share the dresser, so I need to add storage for all of ellie's medical supplies, which are currently stored in owen's drawers. Smile

I am also jealous of all of you being able to set up an actual nursery. We have always rented, so even though I can set up the crib, dresser, etc, I cant paint and my decoration options are limited. But, at this point my nesting is put on hold till we know if Dh is going to get a job offer, what that looks like, and then. His interview is today, so FX'd that they either offer him the job right then and there, or that he hears back tomorrow.

Our weekend is pretty open ended. Probably going to spend most of it at home, maybe working on packing/downsizing and other logistics. Then Monday some friends of ours are coming to hang out. I love that we dont have any major plans. At this point, I would be happy just chill at home till Wee dude makes his appearance. I am feeling the need to have things as calm, and relaxed as possible

I wasn't going to done. Just have him in with us and then move him in with my son. But then someone offered us a crib and I started to think about it, then hopped on pinterest Smile it won't be fancy, the budget is tight for sure. I think this will be my final push. Once next week is over I think projects will b on hold until after DDay!

DH will be able to sneak away from his new job training for sat/sun, so I am hoping to have him help me can a few batches of salsa from our garden. I did one batch by myself on Monday, and it took forever between peeling the tomatoes, and chopping up all the peppers & onions! I was so tired after, and 6 jars of salsa isn't going to last us very long!

I'm hoping to work a little on the nursery as well. This is the first time we have ever owned a house and been able to paint a nursery, so I feel your pain! We rented for 10 years and I hated it!! Smile I'm not going crazy on the nursery or anything, because money is tight - but we did paint the room navy. I want to repaint the crib light gray to match DS bed, and hang a few pictures. I'd like to make curtains, but the fabric I want is out of my range right now. I'm on the hunt for a new diaper pail too...our plastic trash can one is looking pretty old & nasty. We are going to decorate with airplanes (dh is a pilot), so I'd like to find a metal/aluminum one that looks airplane-ish to go with the theme...

Jealous of the camping! We weren't able to go this year between family reunions and DH leaving for his new job. I love camping!

Kier, we rent too. We've always rented because I do not want to own a house since we move so much! I just get creative with things I can hang that helps take up the white wall space. Wink

DH and I are leaving the boys with the grandparents for 2 nights and heading out of town just the 2 of us - college football game and a little mini baby moon! I'm moving super slow these days since baby is sitting ridiculously low (and it's not just me, they told me that yesterday!!) so I hope we can just take it easy with no kids or dogs to chase around for a couple of days Smile

We're not redoing a nursery, but I want to redo DS1's room and put 2 twin beds in there and maybe paint an accent wall. DS1 and DS2 will hopefully start sharing a room this winter when baby is ready to move from the basinet by our bed into the crib full time. I'm *hoping* that a new, fun room will help DS1 stay in bed...we are battling this in a big way all of a sudden and most mornings, I wake up to find him with his pillow and blanket laying on the floor by our bed.

Everyone's nursery plans sound so fun. We rent as well so no nursery for us. This little boy will be in our room for the first 6 or so months anyway.

We're going to spend the weekend in Maine. My in-laws rented a house for the week and invited us to come with us. So we'll be on the ocean, eating lobster, and just hanging out as a family. We leave first thing Saturday and come home on Tuesday. I cancelled all of my previously scheduled vacations from work to save up time for when the baby comes, so from here on out I will be working each week for the next two and half months.
