Update on baby: Took Kellen to the doc again this morning. He put him on reflux meds since his symptoms are just getting worse. Hoping that it does the trick and that I get my content baby back. He also looked at his belly button and thinks it looks like the normal healing process and not infected. On an incredible yay note Kellen is now 7lbs 1oz, a pound over his birth weight Smile pretty good for 2 weeks and 5 days old if you ask me Wink means that in the last 5 days hes gained 6oz even with the puking Smile

Update on mommy: Still having some soreness in pelvis. Really need to find time to get in with the chiro. Bleeding seemrd to stop, but has started up again. This is the longest that I remember bleeding??? Tmi its kind of dark brown and some slimy stuff Sad not like an infection though. I am still feeling a bit run down, but comes with the territory of having 4 kidos lol.

Picture: will post one when I can get to a computer Smile

Update on baby:finally seems to be gaining weight. I put him on the scale at chemo today and he was 8lb 5oz (with clothes on), so he has regained his birth weight! He has had very little formula, about 6oz total in the last week, including the bottle he had this morning at clinic, rather than nursing (he is a slow eater!) he is doing a 4-4.5hour stretch at night, then up every 2.5 or so for the rest of the night.
Update on mom: tired and sleep deprived. Incision is healed although my core is week. Need to start stretching. We are moving back into our regular schedule with our full school curriculum this week, so it could be exciting! I could use a little more caffeine, but am limiting myself to one cup of coffee in the am and sometimes a coke in the afternoon. It doesn't seem to bother him. Otherwise I drink water or mothers milk tea. Smile

Picture: I'd post one, but he pretty much looks the same Smile

Update on baby: Almost getting chubby. Smile His legs are almost big enough for the newborn diapers, and his cheeks have a tad bit of fullness to them. And he is much, much better at regulating his body temperature (though we still have to bundle him a lot more than we ever did with DD.
Update on mommy: I feel (almost) as good as new. I feel so good, actually, that I keep overdoing it and my bleeding starts up again. Oh, and I'm pretty tired and nursing still hurts. But otherwise I feel great. Biggrin

Update on baby: Had her first base clinic ped check today. Was 7,7 at discharge and already back up to 7,11! (Was 7,12 at birth.) She's sooo different than Aiden - she is totally the sleepy newborn! lol. She had a heart mummer at discharge, but the ped today didn't hear it, so we're pretty sure it's closed up now.
Update on mommy: Definitely sore down there, but the recovery is SO SO SO SO SO much better than I had with Aiden. I feel amazing despite my 2nd degree tear! Milk came in last night. Really glad to still be nursing my toddler - much less painful. Wink

Update on baby: been dealing with horrible reflux, weekly check ups with the Ped since he got out of the NICU, over 10 pounds:), have ROP recheck on Monday, early intervention and OT coming out on Monday
Update on mommy: tired, tired, busy, did I mention tired? all in all maintaining and still trying to find a happy medium of juggling work and family life and the needs of Sam. Wishing we had more support so the hubby and I could have a date night or something.

Update on baby: She is doing great. At her 2 week check up she was 8 lbs 12 oz, up 7 oz from birth weight and 1 lb 1 oz from the weight she went home from the hospital at. She is a great nurser and is sleeping 3-5 hour stretches at night. I'm pretty much only getting up twice to change and feed her now.

Update on mommy: I was having some body aches off and on for the first week and a half, but that seems to have stopped. My ab muscles are still feeling strained when I move certain ways. Otherwise, I'm feeling pretty much recovered.

Update on Baby: She is doing really well. She is pretty laid back and content, completely different than my DS was. Having trouble getting her to gain weight. She has to go back to the pedi on Monday for another weight check. As of last Monday she was still 4oz. From being back to her birth weight. I am feeding every 2 hours and giving 20mL of formula with each feeding.

I don't think I ever posted about it, but she had pretty bad jaundice. Luckily her bili levels when I was discharged weren't high enough for them to keep her for light therapy. Her numbers kept going up after we got home though. We ended up having to put her on a bili blanket at home when her bili was above 17. She was on it until she was below 15 which took 4 days. I had to take her to the lab for heel sticks every day for the first 6 days that we were home. So glad that she is doing better now! I actually became really good friends with a girl at the lab and we are going to keep in touch! Everyone at the lab had fallen in love with Callie by the end of that week!

Update on Mommy: I'm doing really well too. I had a really easy recovery, no tears or anything. I gained about 20-25 lbs. while pregnant and I am already about 2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I think all of the walking I did going in and out of the hospital to the lab helped drop the pounds! Thanks for reading my novel!

Update on baby: Kyla Grace is doing GREAT!!! The only thing that has me worried is she wont take more than 3 oz at a time, IF that, mostly its 2 1/2, at first it was only 2 oz and the pediatrician said I was only giving her half of what she needs Sad it really upset me. but i try to give her 3 and most of the time she just doesn't want it. she'll sleep right through feedings, i was concerned about this, as what do i do? the advice i've gotten is - definitely wake during the day for feedings, but don't wake during the night. does anyone have any suggestions?

Update on mommy: I really feel great and so happy, I did not expect to feel this good. aside from still having some soreness, oddly enough more in my backside area lately.

She is probably still in the sleepy newborn stage. If it is hard to wake her for feedings, sometimes you can try changing her diaper or undressing her to make her "mad" enough to wake up! We had trouble with this too since callie was so sleepy from her jaundice. I' m having to feed every 2 hours round-the-clock to get her to gain weight. You're going great, just keep at it!
