I have felt 4 actual contractions today I know thats what it is because my whole belly is tightening, and makes it hard to breathe while they happen... especially with the tightening around my ribs. I'm not in freak out at this point. They haven't gotten more than an hour or so apart, and they aren't active labor intense. As long as they stay like this or I can get them to stop with putting my feet up and drinking water, I'm not worried. I just think my babies and/or uterus get to a certain size and this is what it just does.... and this guy is measuring bigger than his brothers or sister at this point. I will mention it to my Doctor on Wed, especially if it keeps up, but I am NOT going in to the hospital to get monitored or anything like that. With DD they started just after I was 24 weeks, and I didnt ever start dilating or anything till 33 weeks... with DS1 they started at 30 weeks and I didn't start dilating till I was induced... so, at this point, it just is what it is. I also really don't want to do the meds unless its absolutely necessary, and at this point, I really don't think it is. And, I also don't feel that bed rest is necessary till I start having more than 3 or more an hour. I'll see what my doc says on wed... Till then, keep your fingers crossed for me that they either go away completely, or just stay like they are... harmless
I hope a bit more resting and water is all you need to keep contractions away for a long while.
Scary!!! I really hope that they dont get any worse!!! Pre-term labor is no fun, especially when you have other kiddos to take care of! I hope they go away and you can relax!!
I've had pre term contractions with all of my kids, so I guess I'm not surprised... I was hoping to avoid them all together this time, but oh well. I did call the clinic to double check on my appt time on wed, and it turns out that my appt is tomorrow evening, so that helps. Ive been laying around this evening, even took a back, and they are still coming... but, no closer than 20 min apart. Like I said, I'm not all that worried at this point. I just know they are more than the BH's I have had on and off. They wrap around more and make it hard to breathe for a few seconds... but, nothing too bad. At least I am not having the pressure I was having with the UTI I had a couple of weeks ago. So, for now, I know I'm ok. I'll talk to the doctor tomorrow, see what she thinks, and at what point she would want me to go in. Like I said, I really dont want to go into the ER, only to get sent back to the OB, to be monitored, checked, given a shot, and sent home. I also dont want to take the meds that I have in the past if I dont have to, and I really dont want to go on bed rest till its absolutely necessary if I even need to.
The closest they got together last night was about 20 min. Luckily they did stop and I havent felt any this morning yet We'll see what the doctor says tonight. I am just crossing my fingers (and legs) that the next month to when school starts go fast. Then DS1 will be there all day, and DS2 will be there 4 days a week part of the day (on the bus by 8am, home by 11:30). So, then I will hopefully be able to get more of a chance to rest during the day, and IF I do end up on bedrest, things will be a little easier to coordinate
HUGS! Crossing my fingers for you, too, and hope that you are able to avoid the meds this time. Nice that you get to go to the doctor tonight instead of waiting till tomorrow to talk about it all.

Had a good check up this evening. DS1 went with me and we made a date of it My weight did shoot up a bit, but for a month or so there I hadnt really gained any, so I guess thats ok... still makes me want to really watch it for the next month lol. I talked to my doc about the contractions and she said to come in if I have 6 in an hour. She agreed that this just seems to be what my body does, and that I know what I'm doing. My next appt is on the 28th or 29th (as long as nothing comes up before then) which puts me at 28 weeks. I have my GD test then, as well as a growth U/S. Then, I will start going every 2 weeks from there, having another U/S at 32 weeks for sure... if not more, depending on PTL and such. We shall see. I'm just happy that I am to the point that hes viable, and that the few contractions I have had have been minor. Oh, they also ran a urine just to make sure that the UTI I had a couple weeks ago is all the way cleared up... just to see on the off chance that that could be causing some extra irritability in there.
After my appt DS1 and I went out to dinner. While we were eating we talked about him having a new little brother, and how he feels about that. He said hes excited, and really wants to go with me to the doctor when its time for the baby to come out lol. I told him that it could be really long, and boring, that it may be more fun to go to school, or stay home, depending on when the baby comes. He said he could always bring some toys to play with so he didnt get bored. lol my smart little big man. I explained that its hard to know when the baby is going to want to come out. That it could be in the middle of the night when hes in bed, in which case someone would come and stay with him and his brother and sister. Or, it could be while hes at school. And, that it could be on a weekend, when he doesnt have school and then would go to someone elses house (which he said he'd want to go to a friend's house) or stay home... or it could be on a week day when he has school. That we wouldnt really know till it got closer, but I promised that we would figure it out so he would know what he needs to do/ where he'll be and who with. I am also going to make it a point that I really need his help to stay with his brother and sister at home (or where ever) and help out with them... since hes my big helper
Your Dr sounds great, and very reassuring! I love that you made a date of it with your DS!
