I have a friend that I met from my local LLL. When my daughter was potty trained and I didn't think I was going to be having any more babies I passed on all of my cloth diapers. Well, sold some and gave her the rest. well, today she just rang my doorbell and handed me a bag of excellent diapers. She said she passed on the ones that I had given her but she volunteers for a clothing bank type of place here in town and women bring in cloth diapers all the time and they normally just get tossed because no one knows what they are. Well, she brought me 4 brand new BG OS! and 2 Gro baby. ( I don't have experience with them but they look great) There was 5 hemp absorbant inners and a few extra brand new looking inserts! I am just so excited because those diapers are expensive to buy up front! I always buy used and make my own anyways. really, I hope you all can share in this it of excitement with me!! Oh, and this weekend my SIL showed up to give me back my mai tai, and my ring sling! She threw in a baby Bjorn but eeww I will probably get rid of that thing. It's a killer on the back!
Ive never been brave enough for cloth diapers, but I do know how expensive they can be!! That is super awesome that she gave them to you!!! Woo hoo for saving some moolah!
That's awesome! I used cloth diapers quite a bit with DS1 and some with the others. I have to admit, the more kids I had the less I did it just because I can barely keep up with the regular laundry let alone diapers. A friend of mine did give me 2 G Diaper covers and 3 packs of inserts so I plan on using those at least this time.

I used cloth from the time my oldest was about a year. Then my youngest who is 4 now was cloth diapered full time. I got into knitting and sewing from there. It was fun, dipes are cute, and gives me something to talk about. lol. Most people around me think I'm nuts though. My SIL is having twins and I don't think she would even consider cloth. Even though it is so easy!
We just got our first two grovias recently (yay for deal a day sites!). I'm excited to try them (still prepping). Most of my stash is prefolds, flats, and cheapie pockets. You should see the looks I get out here when I hang my diapers out to dry outside.
And Bjorns give good BWing a bad name IMO. So many parents find them uncomfortable and then assume all other carriers are just as bad, when they're not at all! As we get closer to time you should hang out over at the Babywearing Board on here (link in my siggy), I've finally got it getting active again!
My mother cloth diapered my twin sisters!! I couldnt imagine doing it for twins! She said her and my dad took turns rinsing out diapers in the toilet every night! Def doesnt seem like something I would want to do! And then you have the nasty newborn blow outs!! YUCK!

Patrick was strictly formula and NEVER had a blowout... knock on wood I have the same luck with this one. And while we went with disposables with him, I totally plan on CD'ing this one. My friend is currently in the process of making a bunch and giving them to me at cost. I'm super excited.
my husband made a sprayer for the bathroom for 10.00 and that takes care of all poo if I feel the need to rinse. I don't normally have to untill baby starts solids. I love Green mountain diaper prefolds. And snappis. Those are actually my go to dipe. I've been known to grab a pf before a goodmama even. I'll have to check the bw forum out. I made my own ring sling and might do the same. I know I'll be in the market for a new mai tai though.
