Hi! It's been a few yrs since I've been here, but I'm back since we finally are gonna try for #2. We are gonna try for a few months then it's gonna have to wait till we move, since Dh is Army and we are getting transferred to Alaska in July.

Here's to a ton of November babies!!

May as well join in. I'm most likely not staying in October. It's a bit weird to be here as my cycles are lining up with 2007 when DD was born. If I conceive this month (big if, as usual), my EDD will be very close to my EDD with her. I'm not really sure how I feel about that...

Are you ladies officially here?

Yup, af started today. I'm about ready to give up. I join up fora sport on Tuesday (so long as thereis a team that needs me I guess) so I guess we will see what happens. No iui for this month because of short staffing at work so it's an au natural cycle, i'll just do vitamins and no temping again to try to regain sanity.

I'm officially here. Pretty sure the RE is going to prescribe meds this time which I'm ok with. Will go to see him on Tuesday and DH will do his second SA at the same time.
I'm anxious about having a baby in November or December as things are already crazy at this time of year, but not anxious enough to put things on hold.

Same here Julie, I figure if it happens we learn to deal with it. Maybe my Mum will get a baby for her birthday this year

Lol I was thinking the same thing except that I have a ton of November brats already:
Sister = 12th, DD = 15th, my dad/grandmother = 18th. Sigh. My EDD would be the 16th...just my luck. I may poke myself in the eye if we take something that makes us have twins...lol

Wow busy month,
I'm officially here, af showed up this am

...that's why I'm not going with meds, can't take the chance with twins...everything would change, can't take chance :s

I'm going to take the chance but 100% respect your decision. I'ma ctually at the clinic right now with a clomid prescription in hand, waiting for DH to have his blood taken and SA done.
RE finally got to see DH's 1st SA results and said volume was ok but mobility was a bit low. It'll be interesting to see what the second results yield.
Have to go back 7 days after taking the clomid to see him for more monitoring. Going to try to get the script filled today.

My Mum is the 13th and is dying for a second grandbaby, I am her only hope right nmow as my brother has no interest in having kids. I have an insanely busy week at work this week, one long day already on Monday and today as well, both with no lunch breaks, tonight i'm not likelyh to be home until around seven with a short break to pick DS up from daycare and take him home to hubby. Ds starts soccer again in the next couple of weeks, I start netball next week and Guides is back as well so we will be ine bujsy family until the end of September. I am taking a more laid back approach the next few moknths, no iui, no temping, just opks maybe to confirm O.

AF just started, blah, but on the upside my sex drive has finally returned (DH is very happy over this!), so onto real TTC, will probably do OPKs next cycle, just going to try DTD tons this month.

So what is everyone up to this weekend to lass the time away. Tomorrow I sign ds up for soccer and do our usual errands. I have been invited to a lingere party Saturday afternoon but I may skip it. Hubby asked if we wanted to go up to my Mum's Saturday night but I might pass and just hang around home Sunday, I need to mow the yard and we have had awful weather so a trip to the beach or a creek to swim might be nice

13dpo here... Still bfn so as I normally get a bfp around 7dpo I am counting myself out for October.
Not a bad thing... October and conceiving has always brought heart break so not fussed about missing it.
The upside also is my LP was longer with the help of cyclogest!!
Good luck ladies!!
Let's hope we all see fireworks!!! Xxx

I've finished taking my first round of clomid (5x50mg) and am wondering if I should be feeling anything? When I was taking it I definitely didn't get the mood swings - if anything I was happier and more relaxed than usual! I did have a headache for 2 of the days, but nothing a regular strength Tylenol couldn't fix. But now, I feel like I should be feeling something different. Today is CD 9, so still to early to o, but should I be feeling at least something?

I am due to go back to the RE on Wednesday (CD10), but am getting a bit anxious!

How'd it go, Julie? Sorry to barge in but I need some support from people in similar situations! Our first 2 children were conceived so quickly, so this is new to me. I had the mirena removed on June 1st and we've been trying ever since. The doctor just prescribed me Clomid (50 mg) cd 3-7. I am currently on cd 10. I am nervous and excited. Its a little strange but I'm not being monitored and the doc didn't even have me come in- the nurse asked me about what we've been doing, my cycles, etc, and then called me back with the prescription. I have tried OPKs in the past with no success, but obviously am trying them again this cycle. I am not temping/charting- but if this cycle doesn't work maybe I'll do more research on that next cycle. When do you all take your OPKs??? I have been nuts about it. I know you shouldn't take them for the first couple of days after clomid but of course I have been. Today I'm 3 days out from my last pill and have taken 4! The one around 10 am was a good line- but not positive- and the rest have been lighter. I had such irregular cycles previously (32-44 days), and with the clomid have NO idea when I may O!!!! Anyway- sorry to jump in and hope everyone is having a good cycle!

Appointment was actually uneventful, not much different than previous ones. He told us to DTD Wednesday and Friday and go back on Saturday for monitoring. I assume everything was looking "normal", as he didn't say a lot.

I took an OPK yesterday and it was negative, but it was only CD11, so still a bit early. I guess I assume I'll o over the weekend, so Saturday's appointment may be more interesting.

On another note, DH and I had an argument of epic proportions last night. We sort of talked about our anxiety re: trying for a November/December baby after the appt where the clomid was prescribed, but didn't really talk about it again. So last night when I said it was time to DTD he said no, I don't want to try this month. I was crushed and totally taken off guard. I wish we had talked about it more, and we are both at fault. I think a lot of the emotion was related to the build up of frustration over the last year of trying, and I really just broke down. We ended up DTD, after a lot of talking and arguing, but I didn't talk to him afterwards to feel out how frustrated he is with me. I don't want to conceive a baby and have him resent me. But I also feel strongly that this timing is not the end of the world and I'm not prepared to take the next 2 months off, after trying for a year.

So anyways, that's where we are.

Julie :bigarmhug:

It's O time here. 3 positive OPK. Temp jumped hope the weather didn't mess me up. It was 40 a few days ago now it's 70+ degrees.

I should O about Monday or Tuesday. I'm trying not to focus on it, no temping, doing opks only so I know when I o'd for sure so I can stop taking some of my vitamins and just trying to scale it back a little, two years of ttc will send you a little crazy so hopefully this month or possibly two of scaling back will work. I've tried to talk to hubby about my concerns that the age gap is getting too much but he won't listen, he wants to keep tryi g and so do i, but the emotional side is getting way too much for me and if it keeps up I am really concerned about my mental health.

Wendy I hope that plan works- it sounds reasonable. I'm so sorry you're feeling so down- life can be so unfair.
Julie- maybe uneventful is good? That's hard about not being on the same page as DH- especially since he knew you were taking clomid and all... I'm glad he dtd last night and hopefully he will again in the coming days!
Toni- good luck!

Wendy I'm so with you.
I'm starting to wonder how my mind state is :s

Julie, I'm sorry that the appt was just like the last, I'm sure this is normal and everything will be fine.
If this is too personal then no need to answer but why did DH want to wait? What's the reasoning for waiting til after nov/dec?
When does he prefer or does he?
Maybe he's just frustrated and being pushed to preform?
That was happening with us, I didn't realize I started getting pushy and because we had to DTD on certain days, it was more like a chore, we stopped tracking, and started to go with the flow Wink less stressful for the both of us

I'm sure it will work out Smile KUP
Cheers

He just wants to have a baby born early in the year. He's concerned about the child being the smallest/youngest at school and in activities (specifically if it's a boy and a hockey player, half joking half serious). As a side note, as I know this differs signifactly around the country and world, but our school cutoffs are Dec 31, so a November baby would be in the same class as a January baby. Sports for the most part follow the same cutoffs as school years.

I see where he's coming from, but am not as concerned as he is. We already have one child born in November and haven't noticed the differences/disadvantages that we thought we would.

We chatted about it and seem to be ok. He's invested in this and wants us to be successful, which is a relief.

I still have not o'd....temp still down and OPK was negative last night. But, I have been feeling some slight sharp pains on my left side and am wondering if it's o pain. Once been o'ing on my right side the last little while, so I could be wrong. I'll know for sure tomorrow anyways.

Julie that's interesting about your school cutoff- I think ours is August 31st. I was a late birthday- June, and never had issues or felt behind my class if that helps! It's nice in a way too because I didn't turn 18 until after I graduated so my parents didn't have to worry about me being tooooo crazy. I'm soooo glad that your talk went well yesterday. I hope those pains are O! I have an O question actually. I know the ovulation test I'm attaching is negative- but in your guys' experience, is it soon after a test like this that you get a positive one???
TIA!

Each person is different in some ways about how they surge. You could get a positive later that day, or the next day, all depends on you.

Our school cutoff is June 30 so I always wanted January to June babies because I have to pay an extra hear of daycare. If DS had been born three months earlier he would be starting school next year, instead he starts the year after. Now I don't care I just want a baby I don't care when it is born anymore. Sports cut offs are a bit different, Ronin's soccer club ley him play last year even though he didn't turn three until the end of the season

Isn't it funny how school cutoff dates can help clarify why certain timing works for different people?!

So my CM appt today was interesting. Dr was unsure if I'd o'd - he said it's possible it either just happened or is happening imminently but needed the blood results to know for sure.

What he says lines up with the o pains I was feeling yesterday (and he confirmed that I am o'ing on my left side which is where I felt the pains) and with what I would equate with feeling like I'm o'ing. But, my opk's are still negative which I find intriguing.

He'll call me back when he has the blood results, and let me know next steps. He also gave me progesterone to apply once it's been confirmed that I o'd.

Finally, DH's SA results are in and he said that there is a high level of anti-bodies. I asked what that meant and he said that everyone has anti bodies that surround the sperm. But DH has more, which may be preventing the sperm from penetrating the egg. He said it could explain why it's difficult for us to get pg. but not to freak out/worry and will talk to me more about it during my review appt (mar 13).

He also said that if I don't get pg after a few clomid cycles that he'll recommend IUI, and wash the sperm (maybe that washes away the anti bodies?) Hopefully we won't get to that point, as I don't want to do IUI.

Anyways, I guess we are waiting and seeing for a bit Smile

Hope your review appt gives you answers. Beyond the cost iui isn't too bad, it's actually quite quick, it takes me longer to drive there than the appointment, but then again I have a lot of travel for my appts.

How's everyone doing ladies?

I think I may be gearing up to O in the next day or so. Got a Peak reading on my monitor this morning (never had a Peak reading before!) and my OPKs are pretty much as dark as the control line...

Can't wait to hit the dreaded 2WW. All this, will I or won't I O this month has been doing my head in! LOL

What kind if monitor gives you a peak? This is different than an OPK?

Yes, it's a bit different. I use a Persona Monitor as well as temping and this month I'm also using OPKs.

Here's a pic of my monitor showing peak... It's like a little egg with a dot in it! Normally it's just red during "High" and I've never had it reach a peak stage. So exciting!

Sorry it's so big, I don't know how to make it smaller..
