My MIL threw my 2nd baby shower today and I got sooooo much stuff...especially clothes. I have lots to do before this baby comes and so little time to do it. I wanted to share a picture with everybody because I just thought this was too cute. DH's ex-wife made me a diaper cake for my 1st shower, but this shower, she made a diaper tricycle. The pic is below. I had never seen one of these before!
We also had our 3rd hypnobirthing class today and she put me in a really deep hypnotic state today. It was to the point where I could barely keep my eyes open when we were done. DH practiced reading a script to me and I just laughed the whole time because he totally sucks at it. LOL! She did a really neat session today where my right hand went completely numb and I could transfer the numbness to different parts of my body. I'm at the point now where I can actually put myself under now very easily. I think I'm going to be sad when we are finished with the classes.
So just when I didn't think things could get much worse for our family, my grandpa found out yesterday that he has lung cancer. We're not sure what stage it is in yet or what type of treatment they can do. We're still waiting for some more test to come back. Please keep us in your T&P's! I really want him to be around to meet our little girl.

I totally loved our hypnobirthing classes, I have used it with both my labors and plan to use it again this time. Make sure you get your care provider on board though, that is key to keeping the environment that you need. With my 2nd I got another doctor in the group(not my doc), I thought she understood the idea of hypno but she was totally rude and kept bursting in the room, flipping on the lights ect and suggesting things like pitocin to hurry things up. Some docs just dont have experience with it so make sure you explain every little detail to them and be very open about what you need from them.
Sorry to hear about your Grandpa!

I can see how your doctor and hospital staff can totally ruin the hypnobirthing experience for you. Thankfully my doctor is very familiar with it and has had patients that have used it. The hospital I will be delivering at is the closest thing you can get to a birthing center without actually going to a birthing center. All the nurses are certified doula's and they are very pro-natural. So I'm hoping we won't have an issue...we'll see for sure soon though.![]()

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa. I hope something can be done and he gets to spend plenty of time with little baby Sophia.
That's so great to hear about your hypnobirthing classes! And what an awesome diaper tricycle! So creative!
I think the bet part of this post is that your DH's ex made you the trike. How cool is that?
Sorry about your grandfather...it's hard to have such sad, sad things going on while you are in your safe, pregnancy bubble. I'm glad hypnobirthing is going well for you. It might help just in everyday life too. Just to take a few minutes break from the world. Sounds lovely.
