    Unhappy Allergies

Ok so I have never had allergies in my life and the last few days OHMYGOD. My eyes are swollen, sore, red, crusty etc...etc... I cannot stop sneezing and blowing my nose and have sinus pain.
Upto now I have not taken anything, but last night my eyes drove me nuts, I couldn't sleep due to them burning/ hurting so much. I swear I almost scratched them out lol
Does anyone else suffer? If so what have you been told you can take? I searched online but sites all have varying info and what one site says is ok another says you can't take ugh.

Yes, my spring allergies are the WORST. This time around, I've been taking Singulair since almost the start of my pregnancy. It's a class B drug, and really helps me. Benadryl is okay, too, but knocks me out COLD. Good luck!

My Dr. gave me permission to take Claritin (loratadine) during the day and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at night. They are both class B. You may also check into allergy eye drops and see if they are an option. You won't have as much drug going into your entire body that way. I've been having sinus pressure but don't really feel comfortable taking Sudafed, even though it's a cat B also. Also, check your air filters in your house and make sure they're clean!

Thanks guys trying to hold out until tomorrow when I can talk to my midwife. Hate to disturb her on the weekend. Jenny we are in the UK no air conditioning so no air filters. Have been sleeping with the windows open, going to try shutting them tonight. As it is way worse when I go to bed and in the morning. My DH does have some loratadine, so if really bad tonight might take one before bed. I look like I have been crying for days lol really attractive.

My nose has definitely been much more stuffy than normal but nothing that would require meds. Hope you can get to feeling better!

Sleeping with the windows closed helped a lot. Eyes still red and sore this morning, but I didn't lay awake scratching and rubbing them like before. I can handle the sneezing but the eye thing was seriously driving me crazy lol

I have done Claritin throughout my last pregnancy and have taken Benadryl but that made me really sleepy. I hate the watery burning eyes. That is the worst. Hope you get some relief.

Thanks I definitely think sleeping with the windows shut is the key. Every day it is slightly better and have not had to resort to medication yet. Although I swear I almost peed my pants whilst having a sneezing fit at the grocery store yesterday. My kids were so embarrased, then my eyes were streaming looked like I had been crying for days apparently lol. Total humiliation for a 9yr old lol
