Baby Allison arrived!

I have been so overwhelmed I haven't even posted... that our little girl, Allison Lynn arrived Tues. Oct 18 at 5:02 pm. She is teeny tiny at 5 lb 14 oz, but 20 1/4" long. I'll have to try to work in some time to update with pictures and a story this weekend. She is having some bf issues and a little jaundice, so a little stressful around the house. I have now started pumping and trying to feed with a bottle. Gotta get some meat on her bones! Otherwise we are both healthy and happy to be home.

Congrats!!! That's awesome! Try not to stress out too much with her weight (easier said than done) My DD wasn't super tiny at birth (7lbs 2 oz) but she was slow to gain. It was really hard on me. I thought something was wrong and I pumped as well. I did have to return to work, so I knew I was going to have to pump regardless, but turns out, she's just a peanut and doesn't gain weight fast. She would only gain less than 1 lb/month her entire first year. I think she was 2 years old before she hit 20lbs. Hang in there, it gets easier.

Congratulations! I agree about not stressing TOO much about the weight. I had the same problem with my DD. She was heavier at birth, but lost a lot. She even had to be hospitalized for jaundice - and she's still petite. She's not even 30 lbs at 3 years old, but she's healthy! Can't wait to see your little sweetie's pics!

Congrats Mamma! Like the other ladies said, as scary & alarming as slow gainers are they do actually exist & it will change. Hang in there. She's getting the best thing for her. Mamma milk. Good job!!!!
