Bedrest is depressing

I feel like I can't do anything and it's so depressing! Sad DS had an ENT appointment this morning so I asked my mom if she could drive us to the appt and watch DS so I can just sit and not have to chase him around. I'm not even sure if I was supposed to venture out, but I had to take him. Afterwards, I started having contractions about 8-9 minutes apart. This just proved to me that I can't even do that. I'm home now and resting and they seemed to have stopped. I'm thinking that maybe I need to rent a wheelchair now for my grandpa's funeral next week. I'd hate to actually go into full blown labor during his service.

So I did find out at the ENT appt that DS needs his tonsils and adenoids removed. Sad His surgery is October 17th.

Did you get any discharge papers with instructions? That is what they gave to me. It said I was ONLY allowed to get up to use the bathroom and get something to eat(and by that they mean like a sandwich, not make dinner).

It is very depressing Sad I'm on modified bedrest now, much easier, but still depressing at times.

I wasn't on bedrest but I was soooo sick at the beginning, it felt like it. I couldn't do anything -not because of contractions but because I physically couldn't do anything. It was very depressing. Especially because DD didn't understand why I couldn't play with her, etc.

I would definitely rent a wheel chair for the funeral. You will be stressed enough on that day... you don't need anything else. Check with your drs office... you may be able to get one through them &/or even covered by your insurance. Although, I don't think a short term rental costs that much.

About DS, I would've went to the appt too. Smile

Hang in there! Keep that baby baking!

Yes, it said strict bedrest on the discharge papers and listed no driving, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. There was another box that they could check that said "only get up to go to restroom" and that box wasn't checked. I guess I just assumed that I'm just supposed to take it easy and could still leave the house as long as its not for shopping or anything like that. I just got up to go to the restroom and I had another contraction while I was walking and lots of pressure in my bottom almost like I need to go to the bathroom. I think its getting worse! Sad

Yeah it sounds like strict bedrest, for the next few days I'd at least avoid any and all movement except the bathroom and I would go very very slow.

Im so sorry your having to be on bedrest, and even though its best for you and baby, its still a bummer.

I cant even suggest watching tv, because daytime tv stinks, lol!

take care and I am always around to chat Smile and my best wishes to ds and his upcoming surgery. I am sure he will do fantastic!

Oh no I'm sorry! Do you knit or crochet? Both are easy to learn online, maybe you could make baby Sophia a little hat or booties!
