I'm breastfeeding now, but I bottle fed DD from about 2 weeks on, so I'll answer.

We used playtex drop in bottles. They really helped with gas. I had a bunch of smaller bottles (the 4 oz ones) but they were useless pretty fast. I'd recommend getting all or mostly the bigger bottles.

I just stored them in the cabinets with the rest of the baby stuff, nothing special Smile

I've got about 8 (4 oz) bottles and only about 5 (8 oz) bottles.......I only bought 3 of the 4 oz bottles the others were given to me and I just bought new nipples. I also just store them up in the cabinet. That said little Miss is already eating 4 oz at a time, with a 5 oz bottle before bed so I am gonna need to invest in more big bottles pretty quickly...

We store our bottles in the cabinet. We didn't buy too many of any kind because I wanted to see how he did with them. I would prefer Dr. Brown's but he doesn't seem to take to them very well. We also have some Medela bottles and he does ok with them but he takes in a lot of air bubbles. We did have one Playtex nurser that we got for free with our Diaper Genie so I thought I would try it today and he did really well with it. We used them with Brandon after I couldn't use the Dr. Brown's anymore because of the BPA controversy and they worked really well, I just didn't want to bother having to buy the liners this time around. I'm planning on picking more up tomorrow. I'm going to buy one pack of each size I think so I'll have four 4oz and 3 8-oz. If I need to buy more later on I can.

I pumped for about 4 months with DD and then formula fed, so I'll answer as well. With DD I used Avent bottles. I did not have a lot of cabinet space so I only bought what I would use in a day for daycare with maybe one or two extras. You've got to wash them out anyway or they'll get nasty, so no sense in having a huge supply of bottles. I didn't have a dishwasher. I usually handwashed and then used my microwave steamer to santize.
I also stored them in the cabinet when not in use. I only had maybe 2 of the 4 oz bottles and the rest were the 8 oz. With this baby, I had to suppliment at the hospital because we went back for jaundice. I picked up a Breastflow bottle made by "First years" and I like how it funcitons like the breast. I plan to pump some, so I'll be sticking with this bottle in the near future.

see i hated the breastflow bottles. they leaked something fierce for us lol

i also had a bunch of born free bottles that the in laws gave me last time. there were a BILLION parts that had to be washed. who has time for that!? thats why i liked the playtex drop ins. throw the liner away, wash the bottle and nipple and you're done.

DS takes about 2 oz from a bottle per feeding. I have 6 4oz bottles and several 9oz bottles from last time. I'm breast and bottle feeding.

Alli's favorite bottle is the cheapy a$$ Gerber ones...... or the even cheaper parent's choice ones from WalMart.....yay for this momma :-). She gets next to NO air and only spits-up maybe once every couple days.
