After many weeks of sleepless nights, I finally realized that Sophia has colic. The worst was Sunday morning. She woke up at 2AM and cried until 7AM. DH relieved me at 5:30 so I could get some sleep. I could tell she was in pain and the gas drops were not working! I had heard about gripe water so we gave her some last night and she slept soundly in her bassinet and woke up only once for a feeding. She always has what seems like painful hiccups too and since we gave her the gripe water, she hasn't had any so I'm wondering if that's part of colic. She is a completely different baby now. You can tell that she is much happier! Yay!

I am so relieved that I finally realized what was going on and I can now get some rest. I was really worried for when I go back to work that I'd be a walking zombie!! So if any of you are dealing with colic then definitely get some gripe water!!

Glad you found some relief! Everyone swears by the Gripe Water. My sister even says she didn't even bother with the gas drops and went straight for the gripe water. I keep forgetting to pick some up when I'm out of the house. They don't have it at our little pharmacy in town. Kessler doesn't usually have long fits of crying, but I definitely want it in the house in case we have a bad night like the one we had a few nights ago.

Yes!! It's been awful!! Sad I thought it was just a phase she was going through during evening time because I thought colic was 24/7, but I started researching for ways to soothe her and read that colic typically does occur during the evening and last for hours. During those hours she would clench her fist, draw her knees up, and scream. It's been going on for 4-5 hours every night for the last two weeks. She'd get hiccups really bad too and that would just make her even more mad. I couldn't do anything to comfort her! Gripe water has really saved my sanity!!

Ugh, I wish gripe water worked with mine... but all it does is stop the hiccups(which ANY liquid in his tummy will do... so not really special there).

Of course this baby has proved to be his mother's child... everything that works on normal babies... doesn't work on him. He has my genes lol!

I swear by gripe water! I asked DH to pick some up on his way home from work one day and they didn't have any. He asked a salesperson and they told him mylecon was the same thing so he got that. I gave it to Caleb and it didn't seem to do a thing for him!
